Clayton Hotel Cork City

La atención del personal, muy mala. Me querían cobrar 49 euros por entrar a mi habitación cuando me informaron que estaba lista. Casi me hacen pagar el desayuno 2 veces. La pieza con olor a fumador mojado.

Te querían cobrar por todo. Cambien al manager no merece ese hotel

The hotel bathroom is a little dated not very great for taking pictures.

far too expensive not good value for money at all 452 euros for 2 night stay no breakfast and parking extra.

For some reason there was loud piano music played from the lobby at 7am one of the mornings. Evidently an error as it didn't last for more than 5 minutes, but disruptive. We used the stairwell not the lift, and there were used tissues, uncleaned for 48 hours, which didn't instil a lot of confidence the communal areas were being cleaned regularly. Breakfast service seemed to be understaffed

Het bed was erg smal. daarnaast was er veel herrie van verslaafden /dronkaards die zich verzamelden achter het hotel en liepen te schreeuwen. we hebben de receptie gebeld om daar iets aan te doen want slapen met het raam open was geen optie. Om half 5 werden we wakker door een vrachtwagen die veel herrie maakte met het lossen van zijn vrachtwagen bij de het hotel. geen geweldige nachtrust gehad dus. De ramen en spiegels van het hotel kunnen een poetsbeurt gebruiken.

Room carpet & chair stained. Once a good quality Mattress but stained and sagging. Bathroom tile cracked and several lifting from side of bath. Dirty trim on shower glass. Toilet stained. Bathroom needs full refurbishing.
Pool nice, but small very hard towels provided
We eat half our breakfast as a lot of it was cold. Glass balustrade in hallway dusty and stained. Large gold balls hanging from ceiling very dusty. Glass exterior of foyer not clean.

The staff at the reception on Wednesday 13th afternoon
Not customer friendly and not helpful .

I have been travelling in Western Europe for the past 20 years for career and professional reasons.
I Have stayed in many different hotels including clarion ( the previous name of Clayton)

But this was the first time , I had come across unfriendly staff at the reception .

This was around 13.00 hrs - 14.00 hours on Wednesday 13th of May.

Their ( two ladies at the reception) behaviour was appalling !!
So I wished to speak to the manager and requested them for the same.

They did not call the manager instead accused me and said that I was rude !!

I could feel the sobs in my throat and I left the reception area immediately
I called for a uber taxi as I had to go to the conference at silver springs Clayton .

I returned to the hotel later that evening around 20.00hrs and checked in .

To be honest , everything else was good .
The room was very good
The catering staff at breakfast were excellent

I checked out on Friday 15th May at around 9 Am .
The gentleman at the reception very kind ,sympathetic and well mannered.
So my check out was smooth and pleasant.

I am with bookings.com for the past number of years and this is the first time I am writing such a lengthy text.

As a customer , I would be grateful if the Clayton senior manager can look in to this incident please !
