A bit further from Jasper about 1 hour, but we love the view along the way, the gas price here, and stores and places to eat nearby.

It smelt like someone had smoked in the room. The free breakfast was very average

A horrific and dishonest experience. When we checked in, our first room had closed windows and an overwhelming mold smell. After reporting it, we were made to wait 15 minutes—only to be shown a second room with all the windows left wide open.

Hotels do not leave windows wide open at night for no reason. This was a clear attempt to mask the smell. The second room smelled slightly better at first, but the mold smell was still present and far from acceptable. However, because it was extremely late at night and we were in a rural area with zero alternative lodging options, we had no choice but to stay.

The moment we closed the windows to stop freezing, the suffocating mold smell quickly returned in full force. We were forced to reopen them and essentially freeze all night. My sister has asthma and couldn't breathe or sleep in these hazardous conditions. We reported the issue again during the night and asked to leave, but the receptionist said she had no authority to help further and told us to speak with the manager in the morning.

In the morning, the manager was completely dismissive and rude. Despite seeing photo evidence of the mold and being informed of my sister's asthma, she refused to take any responsibility or issue a refund for our unused second night, simply dumping the blame on Booking.com.

To make matters worse, even when Booking.com contacted the hotel directly on our behalf, management still refused to authorize a refund for the night we didn't stay.

​Instead of enjoying our trip, we were forced to waste valuable time finding emergency alternative lodging and managing medical care for my sister's asthma flare-up in a foreign country. They used cheap tricks to hide unsafe conditions and showed zero care for health, basic honesty, or customer care. Avoid at all costs!!

It’s a bit dated but still clean so all good. Let’s see it as 80s charm ;)

The layout was very awkward, the king bed was downstairs completely open to the rest of the apartment. The appliances were very old, fridge/freezer were not clean, the hot plate was not clean, the carpet and furniture smelled of stale cigarette smoke despite the room being non-smoking, the ceiling fan was very noisy. The area outside the room smelled of garbage.

Room location was weird.
