Great hotel
I love it all
Overall very helpful and friendly staff in the hotel, who clearly work very hard to satisfy some very demanding guests. However given the exceptional price, I expect exceptional service - there were a few instances where this wasn’t the case.
Other positives: The gym was much better than expected, the spa and sauna facilities were very good, the pools are nice and the Starbucks hut was great for iced coffees in the sun. The hotel is in a very good location, and the views from the sea facing rooms are absolutely stunning - some of the best.
Despite the many positives, unless you are a family with children, I do not think the hotel represents good value for money overall. I would say the rooms are about £50-£60 over-priced per night compared to other hotels with comparable standards.
While the food is nice, there is a lack of variety and feels the same day to day.
Alcoholic drinks are often watered down. The rooms are a little dated.
There were a few moments that I felt the service fell below standards and the staff were applying strict rules unnecessarily, which seemed hypocritical. The hotel needs to decide if it will do whatever it can to reasonably satisfy its guests by demanding a very high price in return, or if it will stick to strict and inflexible rules throughout and reduce the price. You cannot do both.
I want to be clear I had a good time at the hotel overall, but don’t think it was worth it for the price.
Note: the staff seemed very keen to sit us down to leave a review together with them as we checked out, I find this to be an unnecessary pressure tactic - if you want an honest review, people will let you know what they think anonymously!
