Great hotel in a great location. Solo traveller who stayed in the hotel July 2026. The staff were extremely friendly, the food was great but most importantly the location was excellent. Was easy to walk to go shopping, eating etc nice clean hotel highly recommended if you’re wanting to be in the heart of Kathmandu. 🇬🇧

The property is very conveniently placed in the centre of the town with all the markets close by... The best was a short walk to the most iconic Durbar Square...

Very helpful and friendly staff, therefore highly recommendable. Thamel location is ideal for making use of close night-life. But in-hotel dining is also a great idea, so no need to leave always.

I had an excellent stay at Aloft by Marriott Kathmandu Thamel. The hotel is modern, clean, and in a great location, making it easy to explore Kathmandu. The rooms were comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, and the entire team was warm, friendly, and professional.

A special thank you to Hom Lamichhane from the Concierge team. He was incredibly helpful, attentive, and always greeted us with a smile. His genuine hospitality and willingness to assist made our stay even more enjoyable. He truly went the extra mile to ensure we had a wonderful experience.

In celebrating our 49th Wedding Anniversary, my wife Marylou and I visited six countries with Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, Nepal, Taiwan, abd the Philippines. We mostly stayed at a Marriott hotel brands in each of the places we visited. By far, Aloft by Marriott Kathmandu Thamel was the best place and we rate this hotel 10 stars. Everything about this hotel screams luxury from its friendly hotel staff, a centrally downtown location with shopping, restaurants, entertainment (dinner cultural show, clubs, casino) and places to visit.  We  loved every moment staying here.  The hotel staff (especially assistant manager Sachit, concierge manager Hom Nath Lamischhane, Ayush who ensured our room was always freshly clean, along with Rami, Rajibe, Samyang, Regina, Susanna, Nikimah, lounge staff Sanju  Nikhil to name a few) and countless incredibly hotel staff made sure my wife Marylou and I had everything we needed for our 5 days comfortable stay with daily access to their executive lounge and daily breakfast.  Concierge Hom Nath Lamischhane went beyond his duties after hours by taking us to places to visit Kathmandu Durbar that my wife Marylou wanted to see especially shopping. With Hom’s assistance, we saw and experienced the beauty of Mount Everest.  Everyday we went out, Hom secured us a reliable cars with air conditioning plus reliable English speaking drivers for us to enjoy the city especially able for us to attend a Catholic mass service at the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Lalitpur.  With his connections, Hom found us a reliable English speaking tour guide that knows the history of Nepal & beyond with Mr. Rameshwar, a former English teacher turn tour guide.  Best of all, was when Hom with his wife Sangita and son Shumvan accompanied us to  KoChangs Taste off Thakali Nepalese dinner cultural show.  We enjoyed their company, our food with experiencing the many local Nepalese foods, beer, and had my wife Marylou participate with the Nepalese dancers.  We had a fantastic vacation here  and we plan to be staying here again on our next visit of Kathmandu with our children and grandson.  Message us for additional info regarding our Kathmandu experiences … cheets, DM Untal, [email protected], 7/18/2026

Had a wonderful stay at Aloft by Marriott Kathmandu Thamel! The hotel is modern, clean, and perfectly located in the heart of Thamel. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the staff were welcoming, and the overall service was exceptional.

A special thanks to the team at Nook Restaurant. Chef Sanjeev and Chef Deepak ,Rajkumar prepared delicious meals and went above and beyond to make every dining experience memorable. Anu and Rebecca provided outstanding service—they were incredibly warm, attentive, and always greeted us with genuine smiles. Their hospitality truly made us feel at home.

Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kathmandu. Looking forward to staying here again!

The room was 3 star rated but there was not even a small table available for eating or drinking. The restaurant had an open kitchen which is a serious concern for food safety as no one was using gloves while cooking. My booking included dinner and breakfast. My experience was that even a roadside dhaba provides better service and quality than this. It is my experience that perhaps the people of Nepal call a 3 star hotel as a 5 star hotel. If this is counted in 5 star hotels then I would call it a stigma.
