The room was 3 star rated but there was not even a small table available for eating or drinking. The restaurant had an open kitchen which is a serious concern for food safety as no one was using gloves while cooking. My booking included dinner and breakfast. My experience was that even a roadside dhaba provides better service and quality than this. It is my experience that perhaps the people of Nepal call a 3 star hotel as a 5 star hotel. If this is counted in 5 star hotels then I would call it a stigma.

We had an amazing time in Nepal and staying in Aloft felt safe and well taken care of. Especially Hom, he was amazing even before we arrived. From helping to find pony/ horse riding for me and my niece to organizing transportation seamlessly, going out of his way to help. Location wise is also in the center of the city, super convenient, I highly recommend!
Very comfortable, staff are all very accommodating and friendly. Cocktail on the rooftop bar were absolutely amazing. We have been very well treated the moment we arrived. Strongly recommend this property, great rooms and beds are very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning has a great variety of food options. A+ on my end.
5 stars for location, cleanliness, amenities and service
Very comfortable, quiet rooms. A haven in crazy, wonderful Thamel. Breakfast and lunch staff were incredibly accommodating. Remembered my name and room number beyond the first day. Lounge staff were exceptional. Evening snacks in lounge became my dinner. Shweta (sp?) at reception was wonderful.

Среднестатистический душ, не очень удобный для ежедневного использования. Впрочем маленького душа со шлангом мне недостаёт практически во всех отелях. Ещё хотелось бы отдельную кровать или диван для старшего ребёнка. Увы в гостинице была только детская кроватка для малышей.

The hotel is too busy
One of the most maintained hotels in Kathmandu. Have been staying here since past 4 years, the service and facilities are only getting better.
The hotel has the warmest staff, Shweta at the Reception, Mr. Kiran and Rebecca at the Nook restaurant and the lovely team at Nylgiri Sky Lounge.
Excellent food, gym, spa and comfortable rooms. Lovely place to be at !!!

Elevators were a bit slow
Staff wonderfully helpful, friendly and efficient. Room was lovely. Clean, comfortable bed, quiet room, climate control worked well. Some amenities included bottled water and welcome cookies and chocolates. Loved the fluffy, soft towels and hot water. Ideally located to shopping and restaurants in Thamel. Breakfast had a large selection of tasty foods and the restaurant staff was attentive to diner’s needs. I have visited Kathmandu twice and stayed at this hotel both times. This is the only hotel I would choose in the future if I visit Nepal again.
I’ve stayed at Aloft Kathmandu many times, and every visit reinforces why I keep coming back. From check-in to check-out the team delivers consistently warm, professional service that makes every stay feel effortless and welcoming.
Special thanks to GM Vikram and DOSM Pawan for leading such a strong team that anticipates and takes care of every need. The restaurant and F&B team deserve particular praise—Mittu, Rebecca, Saroj, and the entire crew went above and beyond to provide attentive, personalized care. Their thoughtful service made meals truly enjoyable.
The rooms are comfortable and well maintained, and the hotel’s upbeat, modern vibe is perfect for both work and relaxation. Location, cleanliness, and the friendly staff make Aloft Kathmandu my go-to in the city.
