Stayed here in late March 2026 for almost a week. The only good aspect of this hotel is that it is the closest (walking distance) to the freshman dorms at Vanderbilt. And that Jared at the front desk was very kind & welcoming to get us into our rooms early since we had been awake since 3 am for our flight to BNA. The Moxy is located in bit of a sketchy area as proven by that fact that you have to use your key card to get the elevator to stop on your floor on the elevator (this is only done when hotels have guest safety risks). The hotel also seems to think it’s a Las Vegas hotel by giving you chips (literal poker chips) for drinks.
The rooms are completely inappropriate for any kind of business traveler who needs to work in the room. The “desk” (if you can call it that) is a pull down slat from the wall and the “desk chair” is not a desk chair at all (you sink into it) & not even the necessary height (too low to the ground) to work at the pull-down slat. Making this all the worst was that there is no soundproofing whatsoever between the room next door due to the faulty “interconnecting” door to the room next to you. A very loud woman arrived back to her room next to mine at 4 am, proceeded to SHOUT AT FULL VOLUME on her phone to people in Italy FOR MORE THAN 3 HOURS CONDUCTING HER BUSINESS. Because of no soundproofing (the rooms are hardwood not carpeted) she woke us up at 4 am and continued this well past 7:30 am. This was beyond ludicrous. The front desk was not willing to do anything whatsoever to to provide us a small courtesy on a very expensive 1 week hotel bill for this unwarranted disruption caused by another guest. If you want the worst of Las Vegas style nonsense beginning to end, this is the hotel for you!
Great no breakfast
NA
I was going to have test done at Vanderbilt and wanted a stay near the hospital. It was in great location right down from the hospital.
Room was very clean. However for almost $300 a night plus $35 parking fee it was no where close to being worth it. The room had no accessories. No refrigerator, no microwave no coffee machine. It would have been funny if it wasn’t so sad. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable but I could tell it was an old building updated to the basic requirements. No iron. The bathroom had no privacy and was great if you was on a honeymoon. Lol. The bathroom door was sliding barn door. And both windows looked right into the walk-in shower and area. No privacy again. For breakfast they did have coffee down stairs but no breakfast offered with your price. I’ve stayed in $150 rooms with some type of warm breakfast offed. None. I really hate leaving these reviews because I feel like I’m being so picky but If I can save someone else the loss money I’m going to do it. The workers down stairs were kind but the wrong card was charged also on my account for the room. The night we checked in “and it was my fault partly” was talking about the parking I thought and misunderstood her when she was asking if I was paying at the property or through a 3rd party. I guess I thought she was still talking about parking. So, Of course in swiped my card, my personal card instead of the one I was using for traveling. So I quickly caught what I had done. She said she could fix it and would go get her manager. Finally she told me it had been fixed and the correct card would e charged and the pending charge on my personal account for $400! Would go back. So we went to bed. 3 days later the charge went thru. Not what I was told. I even checked the next morning with another worker and she reaffirmed it had been corrected Not true. I contacted the main office for this correction to be fixed and they wanted me to go back thru location. I tried this but got put on hold then told me a manager would call me back. No manager called me back. In short.
We stayed at this hotel from March 15-17,2026 while visiting a nearby university, which is why we chose location.
Unfortunately, the experience was not good. The shower was not working properly, the heating system did not work, and one of the bar staff members was in a bad actitud.
We arrive in a tornado alert in the area, and this was never comunicated at check in.
Very poor service and lack of communication, especially during situation that requerid attention and care for guests.
Location to Vanderbuilt hospital
The fact that they charged my card without telling me they was taking 100 off my card and here it is a week later and I still haven’t gotten my money back even though they say they have released it already when I checked out. The room was not clean and the floor was sticky. I will not stay here again. This is my second stay first time they didn’t charge me a 100 dollars like they did the second time and you have to pay 33 dollars for parking as well.
I've now stayed at the Moxy three times, all related to trips for my son, who is a freshman at Vanderbilt. I love it. It's not the most luxurious hotel, and the hallways are a bit dark for my taste. But the location is fantastic and the lobby is such a fun place to hang out with my family. Location: it's the closest hotel to Vandy's freshman dorms (a 5-7 min walk to Sutherland House) and it's the only Vandy-area hotel that feels like it's in a neighborhood, about a 1 minute walk to Pancake Pantry (where I take my son on every visit), Hopdoddy Burger Bar, and several other restaurants/coffee shops. Vibe: No other hotel has such a chill "hang-out" vibe like the Moxy. On every trip, I've spent at least a couple hours playing pool, darts, and mini-curling with my son and family. The rooms are clean and comfortable, too. Only minor complaint in 3 visits was that one of the two elevators was out of service on most recent trip.
Staff were kind and hospitable.
Nothing. I will stay again.
I left 2 credit cards in my room (there was no safe) and later got fraudulent charges on both of them.
Location, games in lobby
Couch in 501 was filthy, mattresses uncomfortable, weird room setup, remotes did not work for tv in one room, no lamp in bedroom, one outlet did not work
good stay
the ac dint work when we got there.
The location was okay, restaurants in the area were okay.
Need coffee maker and refrigerator and microwave in room.
We had a great time at the Moxy! We loved the location and the bar and the DJ in the lobby. However, the parking garage was infuriating. Multiple people, multiple different time we could not exit the garage- with our room card or paying with the ticket. It was frustrating to have to reenter the lobby multiple times just to get our car out of the garage and then to pay $30 for self parking on top of that.. It was so frustrating we likely wont stay again just because the garage is such a hassle
