Great pool but service should improve
Pros:

The pool and spa areas are amazing. Very nice hot springs resort. Lots of towels and jets. The rooms are comfortable and big. Montegrotto is much quieter than Abano and we liked that. It's a 10 minute drive to Abano.

Cons:

It's a low end 5 star hotel, a little dated. Many returning guests and the personell caters to them but not at the same level to new guests. The staff at the reception desk was nice but the restaurant staff was rather mediocre. Breakfast was just very basic and we had two problems. Maybe it was because it was the end of the season and the staff was tired but we think, there is room to improve, lots of room. There was basically no service for drinks to the pool area. One time we went inside to ask for something to drink and when the waiter brought it, about 10 other people ordered from him. But by himself he would just not come out and offer. Very strange. We did not like the food at the restaurant for dinner either. Ok but just nothing like 5 stars. The buffet for startes great but the main dish was not good. We went to other place in Abano after trying it once.

Grand-Hotel-Charme mit deutlichem Verbesserungsbedarf bei Service und Zustand.
Pros:

Das Hotel hat den besonderen Charme eines klassischen Grand Hotels und eine schöne Atmosphäre. Positiv hervorheben möchten wir außerdem einzelne sehr freundliche Mitarbeiterinnen sowie das aufmerksame Housekeeping auf der dritten Etage.

Cons:

Das Hotel ist sichtbar in die Jahre gekommen und benötigt in einigen Bereichen eine Renovierung. Besonders enttäuschend war jedoch der sehr unterschiedliche Service: Manche Gäste wurden deutlich bevorzugt, während Freundlichkeit, Aufmerksamkeit und Flexibilität gegenüber anderen fehlten.

A wonderful place
Pros:

My wife and I have stayed at the Montegrotto Grand Hotel and Spa on 10 occasions and it never disappoints
The hotel is located in a small town just South of Padua. The town is connected by rail offering easy access to Venice , Padua and Bologna.
The hotel has very comfortable rooms and suites and offers delicious Italian food. The pool is inviting with the temperature higher than that of a domestic bath
The staff are welcoming and will help whenever they can.
We'll be returning in September which gives a clue as to how much we enjoy it

fine hotel wouldnt stay there again though
Pros:

the room was nice clean spacious toilet very nice, walking in shower, he hotel is or was a facny hotel about 20yrs ago and it just stayed in that period but it was fine to stay, i wouldnt call it a fancy hotel but its a nice hotel

Cons:

breakfast was not nice just pasrty and bread didnt enjoy it, the dinner which i paid for 55e per person was terrible really not nice and some of the staff are really rude ignorent and not nice to deal with. one guy on reception was very rude and once guy at the dinner area was also rude

Avrei preferito qualche lettino in più perché al nostro arrivo erano tutti occupati. Nella piscina esterna qualche idromassaggio in più.
