Scenery was beautiful
3pm check in is quite late then to be told room was not ready and did not get in till 4pm with not even a offer of a complimentary tea, coffee or drink whilst we waited on room to be ready.
Location was excellent. Breakfast and dinner were good quality . Suite and bathroom size was very good . View from suite was lovely
Sofa in our suite was not very comfortable
Room was spacious. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was a good size.
Breakfast was very good.
Paid half board on booking. When we arrived we were told we had £40 per person to spend in the restaurant each night.
Good location on the lake shore
Food goood and no more expensive than in town.
We stayed here regularly about 5 years ago. It needs a bit of an upgrade - or maybe just our room.
Stained carpet, dormer window meant that no curtains fitted and blind was not light tight.
TV on wall doesn’t swivel to allow watching TV from bed.
Staff variable from excellent (restaurant gent with dreadlocks) through to many others who were not really engaged and actively looking to provide a service.
Spa area floor very slippy ( for which we were warned)
Everything was new and clean. The decoration was modern art work throughout the facility, which was fun to look at as we walked through the halls. The spa was great after a day out.
The food hall could use more windows.
Great view of the fells from the room. Hotel in a lovely setting and with easy access by bus or car to other parts of the Lake District. Staff very friendly and nearly always found us a lovely table for breakfast or dinner by the window.
The nightly rate has increased a lot since our last stay.
Location
Very dated decorating and environment.
No provision for small fridges in guest rooms, a very much expected amenity in hotels.
Had to repeatedly ask for ice /fridge facilities every day to keep our water and fresh produce cool.
On arrival, long dark hair clearly visible in the shower in our room…. We do not have long dark hair.
Lovely setting by the lake, great food and service
Na
Property is located in a good location with ample parking available. Staff are excellent and make sure you have everything you need and more! They made the our day extra special.
We loved the lakeside location and views, and the great facilities which the hotel offered. The staff were friendly and professional, and we enjoyed the breakfasts and the unique experience of the hydra pool.
The hotel interior decor lacks a bit of warmth and charm in some areas, and the glossy modern look is a little at odds with the historic nature of the building.
Beautiful location and a lovely breakfast
El Spa.
Locarion
Location of the bar. Had to carry drinks to the sitting room
Location was perfect, very clean room with a huge comfortable bed .
Best Bath ive ever seen in a hotel room.
Staff were excellent in the dining room ,reception, and the spa.
The spa brought us back to life after Scafell pike. Would love to stay again.
