The furniture in the room dated and tired. Bedside lamps didn't work. Lights around mirror in bathroom didn't work. Taps were loose carpet dirty. This was a very expensive suite as a treat for my wife and was very disappointed

Lovely hotel with great facilities.
Rooms are good size and we had an extra large double bed which was really comfortable.
Our room had double doors that opened with view of the edge of lake, which was a nice added extra as did not pay for lake view.
Tea and coffee facilities and access to SPA facilities.
Hotel is in beautiful surroundings right on the lake and views are stunning.
Fantastic terrace to sit and take in the picturesque lake and hills.

Evening meal menu has a good choice and food was excellent.

Reception. Nobody is present, however, working behind the reception desk in the office? The lady from Edinburgh was very friendly...
Front entrance planters need some TLC and a sign mentioning reception is required...
I booked this hotel for my husbands birthday and had emailed weeks in advance asking if they could do some balloons and cake plate for when we arrive, they had agreed and I even emailed 2 hours before arrival as they were saying the cake selection might melt due to heat so I wanted to let them know exactly when we arrive. When we arrived there was some pink balloons and no cake. They were also making excuses for why they didnโt deliver what that said they would. The decor is outdated and the breakfast is basic for what you pay. The only thing going for this place is the location and the views. I was extremely dissatisfied and disappointed from our stay here and would advise anyone wanting to book here for a birthday to reconsider. The room also didnโt have a single mirror in the room itself which I found shocking. Also the carpets were dirty. Overall, the customer service and experience was not what I expected when I booked this place.
Located on beautiful lake Grasmere
I expected nice table cloths on breakfast and dinner tables and was disappointed with bare tables
Although check in time was 1500, we arrived at 1100 and were allowed to leave our car the the large car park and explore the village. We were also allowed to use the spa and pool from 1300 and that consists of water jets, bubbles, relaxation chairs, steam room and sauna, all very clean. Our room overlooked the gardens and lake, was very spacious, the bed was as wide as it was long, tea & coffee making facilities, large TV, safe, toiletries shower and bath. Air con was wonderful and the curtains dark to get a good night's sleep. Breakfast was amazing, with a buffet breakfast, plus any additional items available to order included too. All the staff were very good and we were sad to have to go home.
One or two carpets looked like they needed a good clean, that is all!
