By the shores of Grasmere in the heart of the Lake District, Daffodil Hotel & Spa presents a brand new concept. Beautifully appointed by Interior Designer Paul Sawford, each room is inspired by Fibonacci designs and exclusive features provide you with the ultimate comfort for your stay.

Please note that all bookings over 5 rooms or more will be charged in full on the day of booking and the payment is nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Children aged 15 years and below are not allowed to use the spa area.

Reservations are required for spa treatments.

Half-board rates include an allowance of up to GBP 40 per adult, per night, which can be spent on dishes chosen from the Dining Room menu, and GBP 35 per adult, per night for bookings made before July 1, 2025.

Half-board rates for children aged 4–15 include an allowance of up to GBP 20 per child, per night.

Children aged 16 years and above pay an adult price. Drinks, including hot drinks, will be charged separately. Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

Loved the location and the friendliness of the staff..
Pros:

The restaurant staff were excellent… efficient friendly service. The evening meals in the dining room were excellent value. The breakfast was disappointing… everything seemed to be overcooked and a limited choice.

Cons:

We paid extra for a suite and the view didn’t disappoint. The room was spacious but poorly furnished . Stains on the carpet and limited wardrobe space. No full length mirror or fridge which you would expect in a “superior room”. …housekeeping could be a bit tighter .Biggest disappointment was the pool not being available, although we were notified earlier it was too late for us to make other arrangements. An acknowledgement of some sort would have been nice.

Pros:

Returning guest. Great hotel and good staff.

Cons:

Closure of swimming pool for refurb not well communicated during booking process. Probably not hotels fault as it was in small print in booking confirmation.

Disappointed
Pros:

Hotel was ok. Staff very nice but layout very misplaced and not executed very well. Bar areas had a cold feeling with no vibe. Food however very good but slightly on the expensive side and with limited options - especially if you are staying more than a couple of nights. Spa facilities ok

Fabulous hotel. A great location, the restaurant is reasonably priced and great food. Lovely rooms.
Pros:

Moses in reception was great as was Ronnie at dinner and the young Aussie guy (can't remember his name). Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable.

Food was great, location lovely. Room clean and comfortable.

Cons:

Spa needed more frequent cleaning of floors. Expected more attentive staff. On arrival wasn't given much information. Not very friendly. One staff member in the dining room was very nice, chatty and helpful.

A very comfortable short stay in a well located and maintained hotel.
Pros:

We were on the top floor, level 3, in room 320 and it was a lovely spacious room with a huge en-suite toilet / shower facility. Very comfortable with very little internal or external noise and well heated. Breakfast area was lovely with attentive staff and nice views.

Cons:

Overall the property is well maintained and clean, yes there are areas where carpets in communal areas are slightly stained / marked, but this would be expected. The one issue that we would highlight, is the absence of staff on entering the hotel at night. Anyone could just walk in and access all floors. This is quite a significant problem, in our view, given today’s changing circumstances in our world. It is certainly security issue that needs addressing.

Can’t understand all the fabulous reviews, makes me question there authenticity. Won’t be back.
Pros:

Location. View from garden.

Cons:

Overpriced room, food and drink.
Reception austere. Bars and lounge area uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Main bar location odd, have to walk through dining room to get to it. Limited seating once there. Bathroom leaking, carpet wet. Carpets in halls and main stairs dirty. Spa dark and oppressive. Spa water not warm enough. Dinner and breakfast service very slow.
