Famous, historical hotel, right in front of People’s Park (several subway lines and the start of E Nanjing road) with very polite staff.
Room and especially bathroom could be bigger. Still needing a little more refurbishing (one can hear the water running from next door). Breakfast with good food but not enough tables (one had to share table with strangers).

Staff need to realize that the history will only carry you so far. China is changing they need to embrace tourism and be more considerate to outsiders.
The style of the hotel is very unique and atmospheric. I had a top-floor room, and I like the interior design and it is thought through each detail.

La présence de la moquette dans la chambre. L’espace un peu restreint dans la salle de bain.
Located next to 'People's Square', the hotel is in a great area with a couple of museums within 5minute walk and right in front of a subway stuff which can take someone directly to and from the airport. The staff was super nice and helpful, they let me leave my bags while the room was prepared which allowed some exploring pre check in. The breakfast has loads of choice and its completely worth it.

Clean with comfortable beds, and copious bottles of free water. Fabulous location.
It smelt very strongly of moth balls in reception (disgusting), and the whole hotel was very old-fashioned and needs a major update. The drain in the bathroom also smelled bad, which we complained about a few times. Staff were disinterested and not helpful.
