Mariusz was absolutely brilliant. When the coffee machine stopped dispensing milk, he was quick to help and went above and beyond by kindly bringing hot chocolates to our daughters at the table. Such a thoughtful gesture and certainly not something he had to do — it genuinely made a difference to our stay. Staff like Mariusz deserve proper recognition. Top lad!
The only other disappointment was the parking charge. Paying £20 per night for what was largely an empty car park felt excessive and rather difficult to justify. It did leave a slightly sour impression at the end of an otherwise pleasant stay.
Location good . Breakfast average
More choice of hot food at breakfast . Toilet in our room was broken
Central
Hotel dated, not what you’d expect for Hilton quality & price. Antique shower, just dribbles at you. Clean room & comfortable but yeah just outdated for the price. Overall still a good stay.
the room is clean and tidy, plenty of parking
The arrangement is terrible, you open the door and it is your bed right away. The TV is on the side and you can not watch while sitting in the bed! I spent a lot of time travelling and live in hotel. This rooma arrangement is definitely a first for me and WEIRD!
Prefect for our stay in Leeds, very comfortable beds, lovely bathroom and towels. Useful to have tea and coffee and breakfast was yummy.
Nothing
Reception, friendly and efficient.
Nothing
Breakfast, check in, staff, good price
Room had a strong waste drain smell that wasn’t very nice in the night!
I love the environment with the wonderful breakfast
I love everything about the place
Location. Ten minute walk into the centre of Leeds and it had its own car park. The breakfast was very good. Had everything you’d want. All the staff were very friendly too.
The rooms and dining area was very basic. There was an awful sewerage smell from the toilet and drain in the bathroom.
Room very large and clean
Lift, very secure
The hotel was clean and tidy, breackfast was good and the staff were very good
I was on the 8th floor and the windows do not open. It was very hot weather when i was there. The aircon was not very good even after the enginer had a look at it.
Close to the city centre, beds were very comfy, and breakfast was nice.
I paid extra for a city view and found the room quite small.
Absolutely Disappointing — Rude Staff, Overpriced Parking & Awful Breakfast
We visited Hampton by Hilton Leeds City Centre recently, travelling with my disabled mother, and the experience was poor from the moment we arrived until we left.
We parked safely in what we thought were the correct disabled bays in their car park and asked a member of staff to confirm we were in the right place. Instead of being helpful, she was abrupt and simply told us we had to pay £20 to park — even though the public car park directly opposite was clearly marked at just £7.50. I honestly don’t think she would have mentioned the cost at all if I hadn’t asked; it felt like she was going to let us park and be charged later without warning. It was completely overpriced and unreasonable.
When we tried to leave later, we realised she had not given us the PIN code or access details needed to get out. We were stuck waiting, had to go back and find her again, and wasted so much time — really stressful, especially for my mum who struggles with mobility. It set such a bad tone right from the start.
But the breakfast was even worse, and nothing like the standard we have come to expect from Hilton or Hampton by Hilton hotels.
- Flies were flying all around the hot cooked food area — it was unhygienic and put us off eating immediately.
- There was only one choice of egg: scrambled, and it wasn’t nice at all.
- The famous waffle station was a joke — the waffle mix was lumpy and thick, so the waffles came out heavy, dry, and awful. And the toppings? Only marshmallows and chocolate sauce — that was it! No fruit, no nuts, no syrups, nothing like the great selection you get at every other Hilton we have stayed in.
- For the yoghurt, there was no fresh or chopped fruit at all — just tinned pineapple chunks.
- The cold selection was shocking too: only one type of cheese, and one type of sliced meat which looked pale, cheap, and I honestly couldn’t tell what it even was.
We stay at Hilton/Hampton hotels regularly and always look forward to the breakfast — especially the waffles — but this was nowhere near the usual standard. It felt cheap, poorly stocked, unhygienic, and completely disappointing.
Add to that the rude, unhelpful staff and the ridiculous parking charges, and we left feeling ripped off and very unhappy. We chose this hotel because we wanted a reliable, comfortable stay for my disabled mum, but it was a total letdown.
I cannot recommend this place at all, and we certainly won’t be coming back.
Room was very clean and comfortable. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and accommodating
