Hotel Basalto

The staff is extremely nice, with a very qualitative service. The restaurant in particular we did not expect such amazing food. Rooms are great and clean. We stayed one night there as a bridge as we were flying out early the next morning. It did the job perfectly.

Breakfast was awesome. Food was amazing. Service was outstanding. Our spa services were amazing.

We had the most amazing experience this February at Hotel Basalto. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely at home, and they continued to take exceptional care of us throughout our nine-day stay.

This is a charming, intimate boutique hotel with a calm and beautiful atmosphere — perfect for a relaxing getaway. We were there with our family, and it was absolutely ideal. The hotel is beautifully located just steps from the beach and offers two lovely pools, which gave us great options for both quiet relaxation and family time.

The food is truly outstanding. We enjoyed every single meal — breakfast each morning, delicious dinners, and wonderful lunches by the pool. The tacos are a must, the salads are fresh and flavorful, and the poolside drinks were fantastic. Everything was consistently excellent.

What truly sets Hotel Basalto apart is the staff. From the hotel manager to the reception team, the housekeeping staff, and restaurant team — every single person was warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our stay perfect. They anticipated our needs and went above and beyond in every way.

The spa is also amazing — such a peaceful, restorative experience that added to the overall sense of relaxation.

If you’re looking for a calm, beautiful, and highly personalized experience, I cannot recommend Hotel Basalto enough. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already wanting to return.

Exceptional location, lux hotel with boutique vibe. The rooftop pool and views are epic and since it’s a small hotel it feels like you have a private beach front home to yourself. Add the roof top bar and food service, with the happy and friendly staff, you’ve got a great combo to enjoy the best of Mexico. We spend many hours watching whale migrate north from the roof top and our balcony. It was very Special. The hotel kitchen is great for breakfast , lunch and dinner. And when you wanted something different you could just walk down the beach to El Barracuda restaurant for another beach vibe.

The complimentary breakfast was excellent and filling. The location is great.

They were absolutely fantastic and accommodating. Most beautiful property. Choco, the manager, was the warmest and kindest. Juan Carlos was so fantastic as well. Will be recommending this property to all my friends!

Ocean view was amazing - the daily viewings of humpback whales in the bay really helped! We also really liked that this hotel is independently owned, the beach is nice and sparsely populated, and the on-site amenities were splendid.

La vista que tiene es espectacular, el personal es muy amable y los desayunos estuvieron muy ricos, te prestan sombrilla, cañas de pescar, tablas, etc. para disfrutar la playa, los cuartos son muy amplios y cómodos.

Adjectives fail me. Hotel Basalto was spectacular and a much-needed respite. The food on site was tremendous. We took many meals at the restaurant during a week spent recharging in each other’s company. The staff were welcoming and on their game. The rooftop pool with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean is paradise. If you’re looking to get away from it all the Riviera Nayarit is a world-class destination, and Hotel Basalto is an exemplary facility there to take advantage of the weather and enjoy some time away from the rat race.
