Stayed in the Loft Suite which is truly superb.
Staff were very good throughout.
I think the room could get very very hot in very sunny weather, we missed the heatwave by 2 days and maybe should consider some AC.
Amazing place perfectly decorated
Pool and gym was closed for refurbishment
Very elegant hotel, the breakfast was good.
Nothing really it's just a shame the swimming pool is been renovated.
The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating during a very special time for me. I stayed the night before my wedding and was allowed to get ready in my room the following morning, which made the whole experience stress-free and memorable. My friends and bridesmaids stayed in the Rowan Cottages, which were comfortable and perfect for our wedding preparations. The hotel was clean, welcoming and helped make the start of my wedding celebrations truly special.
There was nothing I didn’t like. Everything was perfect and exceeded my expectations.
on arrival I booked 12am and wast not allwed in room till after 2 the place was a building site, no gym pool or sport facility despite booking. com saying there was. the room was to hot for humans it was well over 32.c, cover in cobweds stinking of dog pee and floors was wrecked and infested with fleas also the other gest were a night mare in and out the room are to noisy and we never slept a wink total nightmare, also supied us with an out of date ecrical fan that could of blew up.
Buffet hot and cold breakfast was good.
Staff were rushed off their feet trying to cope with everyone's needs. We had to ask 3 times for coffee. And I had to point out to staff, both milk jugs on the buffet table needed refilling.
Everything
Location, surroundings
We were put near a room with dogs that barked constantly very disappointed.
Awesome room
The location is beautiful surrounding by the countryside, very peaceful. Room was stunning we stayed in the nest suite which is located on the top floor in the hotel. Free standing bath, king size bed was so comfy, coffee machine with coffee hot chocolate tea, biscuits. Free bottle of water and wine. 42 inch tv with Netflix, WiFi, fluffy soft bath robes, all bedding towels smell amazon very clean. Room is beautiful looks luxurious from furniture to curtains, floor, decor, lots of space, windows give a full view round the hotel grounds, different mood lighting spotlights, Chandelier, cool lights in bathroom on the wall very quirky also a rainfall shower, toiletries provided, iron and hair dryer, fan in wardrobe. Leaflet provided on hotel info. Bar and restaurant pricey for drinks but food was delicious and reasonably priced. Nice outdoors seating. Small park for the kids to play on, music playing inside and out have nice atmosphere. Reception looks very grand. The prego restaurant was fine dining we didnt eat in this and went to the antler bar. Very big carpark and lots of spaces situated on grounds. Cottages looked nice with hot tubs these look more private away from hotel. We stayed as booked tickets to beamish museum 20 min drive.
Small faults but cant be helped are the room is located over reception near to carpark windows are thin can be loud outside. Swimming pool gym was closed for refurbishment. Breakfast is pricey. Deposit taken for damages 50 pounds still isnt in account after 2 days can take 5 days. The room next door has bunk beds for a family we could hear them outside our door late running and shouting. You get a separate staircase to the 3 suites with no lift access so need to carry bags. No shop but you can call to one on the way ,town is 20 minutes away.
Absolutely beautiful inside and out.
