Manque de climatisation par ce temps caniculaire

There was no AC.

No air conditioning, it was extremely warm inside the room.

I usually don't write this much, but: we stayed during a scorching summer week (temp outside varying between min 26°C and max 36-39°C. Our room was UNBEARABLY HOT during the whole day, INCLUDING during the night (we arrived at 1 am and it was like entering a sauna). The temperature inside the room never went below 28°C (we checked). They provided a fan (not very potent, but ok), but there is no point in circulating such hot air! Since there were just windows on one side of the façade, there is no air exchange (not even if you open the door cause the hallway also has no window), therefore there is NO WAY to cool down the room except for waiting so the heat naturally dissipates (which in Europe we know usually doesn't happen quickly as the buildings are made to keep the heat inside). It was informed that AC was not available in the room (in no room actually), but having NO AIR CIRCULATING AT ALL is absurd considering the price and that this hotel is from the Fassbind chain - which has enough money to somehow modernize the rooms and adapt - maybe by adding rolling shades to all rooms (some may have it) on the outside to block the sun in the hot days (which are becoming more and more frequent in the summer months) and replacing the carpet by parkett, which still helps maintain the heat in the winter and helps in the summer. This was really disappointing, because you are basically sweating the whole time in the room. You can't even properly keep the windows fully open to try to get even the slight glimpse of a breeze because they simply close if you don't secure them somehow (we had to get creative and put our luggage standing up - and later on A KETTLE ON A STOOL!!! - to keep it.from closing). Furthermore, the breakfast room also turned into a greenhouse since its ceiling and most walls are all made out of glass and there is no proper air circulation as well.

Es hatte leider keine Klimaanlage und so war es unerträglich heiss in den Zimmern. Zum Glück ist es in der Schweiz nicht immer 36 Grad heiss.

Un hotel ouvert pendant 25h mais à 1h du matin, le gardien n'était pas à son poste.
Le réfrigérateur n'était pas branché, or c'était la canicule. 🥵 Ni les ventilateurs. Pas de poubelle dans la salle de bain.

They did offer fans but the room was still very hot so to cool it down we would open the window in which case you would hear a fair amount of city noise. Not to much to do just have to manage.

With the great location came a lot of traffic noise / honking when Switzerland won a fifa game (not the hotel's fault and just bad timing for our visit, but maybe relevant if this type of celebration is common for other events?). The photos in the booking show really unique rooms, but the one we got was more generic. Only one armchair and no seating options for using the balcony (we visited during a heatwave, so didn't want to make use of the balcony, but we had thought about enjoying the balcony view with coffee in the morning when we booked the hotel, so a non-issue for us, but I could see it being a bit disappointing if the weather were more conducive).
