Not far from the city
Pros:

We stayed in Colonial Club Cairns Resort for 4 nights. We had a really spacious room with 2 double beds. The room was not serviced daily. As we arrived late in the evening, we grabbed a pizza from their restaurant before hitting the bed. I wouldn't rate the breakfast as it was very basic, nothing special. The grounds of the resort was really nice with 3 pools. We saw lots of families and a large group of young adults during our stay. Location wise, it's just a 20min drive from the city centre.

Was a very average place to stay, the food made myself and my hubby have crook tummies.

Lots of children, people smoking and drinking outside our room all night. Our shower didn’t drain, so water poured everywhere.

Pros:

The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Great place for families, with designatedswim zones for kids.. The food at the Thirsty Flamingo was limited but good with generous servings. The buffet breakfast was fairly standard.

Cons:

Wifi connection was very limited if you could connect at all.
