Service
8.5
Generally praised: numerous mentions of friendly, helpful reception and efficient staff. Some service issues (housekeeping walked in, inconsistent room servicing) but staff friendliness is a consistent positive.
Location
8
Good for attractions and expected location; family rooms near Pleasure Beach cited as convenient. Some negatives from scaffolding/limited parking but location is overall a positive.

Frequently described as good value or great value for money by multiple guests; considered a strong point despite other shortcomings.
Food and Beverage
5.4
Multiple complaints about breakfast quality (poor scrambled eggs, tinned fruit), limited pastries/fruit and some cleanliness issues in dining; food offering is below expectations.

Pros:

24 hour desk, arrived late and was able to check in online
Asked reception for some hand soap as none available on the bedrooms en suite, he came up and bought me 2 small bars and a beaker of liquid soap.

Cons:

Room wasn't clean, no hand-wash in the bathroom, TV didn't work, cobwebs and spiders in the room and the bed was uncomfortable.
Black mould around the sink and the furniture had rips in it.
Room had a damp odour
Generally did not feel clean.

Not good at the moment
Pros:

Hotel has been updated internally and looks much better.
Staff very pleasant

Cons:

Scaffolding surrounding the building and you could hardly see through the windows for dust and dirt. 2 of our six days there was no water 1030 till 230 which was very poor as I was with my elderly mother (96 yrs old) and disabled. Only available toilet was in lounge area so not convenient during this time as she wanted to rest in room and it was very inconvenient to have to leave room and go downstairs to toilet.. Two sets of double doors from our room to lift and our wheelchair would not fit through single door and I couldn't hold both doors open and push wheelchair so mum had to walk with stick from room to lift which was very debilitating for her. Breakfast was ok but very little continental options only cereal and peaches with a bowl of yoghurt. No croissants or other breakfast pastries. No individual yogurts or other fresh fruit. Outside in the smoking area it was littered with cigarette ends all over the floor which were never swept up. The cigarette disposal units were broken and there were no bins in the area . I could not fault the staff but it was not the relaxing stay we were expecting.

Overall our stay was good
Pros:

Plenty of disabled places

Cons:

Not much choice in a morning, hardly any salad and cake and cream every night for dessert lifts unable to take mobility scooters put on 3rd floor so if there was no lift it would have broken down I wouldn’t have made it down the stairs or up .

Probably the worst stay in Blackpool- we tend to come up at least 3 times a year for short breaks
Pros:

Room size was good and reception staff were friendly and efficient

Cons:

The room developed a leak on the first night from the shower above - the bathroom window would not shut so the room was filled with sand flies - I asked for fly spray and someone brought one up, did a quick spray and took it away again! They tried to plug the window gap with tape which was ineffective. We spent 2 nights killing the flies , which was not peaceful. The lift is inadequate as there is only one and needed for staff who do the cleaning/ bed changing etc. The car park is too small - we were unable to park there any night , and as my partner is disabled it was very inconvenient to drop him off and then have to find parking on the street ( I’m 73 so not comfortable doing this )
