The room was stunning- pricy but stunning ad perfect location for us. Can be a bit street noisy but overall - we will be back
Sliding bathroom door was a bit "sticky" to move, only had very minimal towels/Toilet paper, wish the refrig was stocked so I could use bottled water for coffee pot

The location is great. If you are 60+ you would love it. But the is historical and then there is outdated and old and unfortunately this was outdated and old. It does not feel like a luxury hotel. Next time I will stay somewhere else. It is the same pricing of much nicer and newer luxury hotels in the area.
old in a not so great way. I love architecture and history but this place has been made much effort in updating in ways that still makes for a great experience. Severly outdated to the point the place felt dead.
We had an upgraded room with an amazing view of the lake, museums and the park.
The staff were ok but really indifferent and the facilities are older.
This hotel has a very fancy lobby but on the weekends doesn’t provide breakfast to elite members; they provide 750 points in lieu of breakfast. They didn’t post that or my 1000 points welcome gift and I had to call Marriott customer service to get it posted. The room was decent, but nothing spectacular for the price. If you like staying in old hotels with history this is the place for you, but I can’t say it was that amazing for what you pay for. I must say though that their Spanish restaurant in the lobby had some impressive food that I used up my food and beverage credit for! They did honor my 4pm late checkout without issue.

Decent hotel in a superb location. The hotel is based in a historic building. Room size was okay, bathroom and shower quite nice. Parking was expensive but understandable given the location. Sheema at reception was a star. Coffee shop not the best.
The location is excellent for visiting the Art Institute, the Field Museum, and many other Chicago attractions. Our room was sparkling clean, comfortable, and wonderfully quiet, allowing us to relax and enjoy our stay. Although we didn't have a lake view, we could see the Sears Tower rising above the Chicago skyline from our window. Perhaps ours wasn't a room with a lake view, but it certainly wasn't a room without a view.
Our only complaint was about the front desk service. When we checked in, we were not offered the complimentary bottled water. When I asked about breakfast, the staff member simply replied, "We don't have breakfast service," without mentioning the executive lounge or any other dining options.
In addition, the destination charge was never explained to us. We almost missed the $25 daily credit because we didn't realize it was available until we reviewed our receipt and asked about it. Fortunately, our friend knew how the destination charge worked, so we were able to use it for two tickets to the Chicago History Museum and a $12 credit for snacks and drinks at the café.
I loved everything about the stay. The valet guys was great and fast they helped with my bags. Front desk was professional and treated me so well. I will definitely be booking again. Everyone needs a raise.

Terrible experience with the elite lounge, which has terrible food (nothing hot, mostly pre-packaged and bruised fruit) and limited hours (including weekends)
My mother, sister, niece, and I experienced exceptional service and enjoyed the elegant and creative atmosphere. Shima greeted us at the front desk with warmth and helpful assistance. Everyone we encountered there was just as terrific at hotel is well located and the rooms lovely and comfortable. Highly recommend, and we will be back!
