Wouldn’t go back, very disappointing.
Pros:

They had a nice garden.

Cons:

Staff was not good. We had to take our luggage up a steep flight of stairs because there was no staff to assist. Front desk was mediocre at best.

Pros:

The hotel was amazing, right in front of Shakespeare New place. Very close to RSC. The room was very good and quite big. greta bathroom. I had a side room and it was very peaceful at might. Walking distance from the train station.

Great location , but a few disappointments

Central to everything . Very clean and comfy bed and great linen .

Our room request , booked 6 months in advance was not met . Yes, the booking site does say that it’s not guaranteed however booking that forward in advance, I would have thought that we would have given priority especially since I was emailed three times asking me what room type I wanted . Whilst the room was clean and the bed was great , It was difficult to get to the room as it had very shallow and steep steps. The flooring in the room was also uneven to the point that if you Placed an item on the dresser it rolled off the top . The cabinet which housed the fridge , tea / coffee and wardrobe even kept shutting closed due to the slope of the floor . I mentioned I had vertigo to reception and the uneven floor boards added to my dizziness .

Our stay was enjoyable. Staff wonderful end food delicious.
Pros:

Breakfast very good. Staff excellent. We liked the separate lounges and the decor. Location was excellent, close to theatre , river and shops.

Cons:

The view from the window was awful.
