Food was nice
Very rude staff working on reception main entry. Reported a problem and shrugged his shoulders
Our second time at this properly. Lovely spacious family rooms. Comfy beds. Great pool and buffet breakfast.
We found the pool times very awkward for families, as they clashed with breakfast and then there was no pool access until 3.30pm, leaving very little to do with young children in between.
We liked 👍 everything, very relaxing stay

We ate in the bar. the food was good and the service was outstanding. we asked for an extra pillow which was brought quickly, the staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Great black out curtains!

Room was large, restaurant was nice we ordered from the bar menu.
Most staff were pleasant
Receptionist on spa was very rude, we didn't bring the paper sleeve down with our hotel key card so she interrogated us on room number again. She even rang reception to check our booking and room occupancy. We were 100% judged for our appearance, we're both heavily tattooed and probably not the usual clientele. So maybe worth letting Anne know that tattoos and coloured hair don't automatically make you a problem.
rooms were very clean staff was very helpful. The food was excellent, compliments to the chef.
The pool jacuzzi has no warm water
Nice location and big rooms, nice garden and big shower room.
The spa was good, but the jacuzzi is cold as it is in the same pool.
The restaurant manager Stuart and the waiters made us feel so special on our first night meal. They have decorated our table and the food was delicious. The attention to details and serving was absolutely a fine dining feeling. Cocktails were nice
Same on our second evening. We highly recommend the restaurant.
Lunch options at the bar room, which is decorated and furniture really nicely. The staff were friendly. It's a nice option to lounge and just relax. Close to the spa where you can just walk over to the other building. The spa has a locker, shower room, hairdryer and wet swimwear spinner, which is always handy.
Breakfast was good, the usual normal options for breakfast for everyone, plus other breakfast options can be added for additional cost (poached eggs and eggs royale etc)..
Made reception aware prior that this stay is for our first year wedding anniversary, also sent a small parcel to decorate the room. Unfortunately the package wasn't there, which was found the next day when we asked again...... But when asked staff they didn't know about it or other members of staff did not hand over. Even though prior messaging with them, we didn't end up with anything in our room like their pictures on the website, which was a little disappointing...
They need a little update on the building inside and outside, wires shouldn't be hanging outside, when walking around the nice area. If someone is having photos taken or a wedding, occasions that need to be tidied up. Painting the windows especially outside a lot of the big windows paints are cracked. Attention to details to keep this estate more up to date and nicer.
Definitely better communication, details and attention from the front desk for future reference, some of the staff members just try to ignore and some are so welcoming..
Communication was just not as welcoming as you would accept it. The building is nice and nostalgic. The room is nice but windows and doors need attention to be fixed, noise control, pillows were way too soft, and difficult to sleep. When we arrived in our room, the room was very hot and there was no AC or fans, we asked for a fan at the reception, after our evening meal. She has written it down and said someone will bring it. Never turned up and after it was different staff at the front desk. We opened our windows but due to no fan in the bathroom it gets really steamy and hot inside.
Bathrooms need toilet brushes, they can be bleached by housekeeping every day if needed. Doors need painting as the bottom of the bathroom doors are from white is brown and chipped paint. There is no air in the bathroom no source of fans that would make it better..

Breakfast was brilliant & the resturant manager ( not sure of his name) was amazing. He remembered us from our last visit. Thats a good manager
Lift not working
My husband had to lift 2 cases weighing 20kg's each up the stairs!

Place is huge and noisy at times in places.
Set in lovely grounds. Beautiful historical building
Unfortunately the lift was out of service but the hotel staff were really helpful when asked for a ground floor room.
Stayed many times, never disappointed.
Not a complaint, just an idea .. have complimentary adult wheelchairs as the room was away from main area
