Wonderful location with fantastic lake views. The staff were great and accommodating.
The cost was excessive for the experience. It is a very nice hotel but the prices demand exceptional and I did not feel it was exceptional.
It has been several months since my stay, yet the Grand Hotel Tremezzo warrants a thoughtful review. The property stands as the true grande dame of Lake Como, and its storied history is unmistakable. Although there are other hotels along the lake—many newly renovated and gleaming—they struggle to match the enduring cachet and character that the Tremezzo embodies. Much like the Lodge at Pebble Beach, it is an established hotel that continues to age with unparalleled grace, sophistication, and charm.
Our room offered an exceptional view of the lake, framed by the mountains rising majestically behind it. While the décor was somewhat dated, it was tastefully appointed and well maintained. Waking to such a view each morning was an undeniable highlight of our stay.
The dining experiences at the hotel were consistently enjoyable. The breakfast buffet, though modest in presentation, was abundant and of high quality. All the meals we had were prepared with care and were thoroughly satisfying.
I must particularly commend the front desk and security staff. During our stay, I misplaced my mobile phone, and the staff went above and beyond to assist in locating it—which they successfully did. Their professionalism and dedication greatly enhanced our overall experience.
My partner and I left with wonderful memories and look forward to returning when time allows. For travelers who do not require a newly built or ultra‑modern resort, and who instead appreciate a historic property offering exemplary service, the Grand Hotel Tremezzo is an ideal choice. Considering its age, heritage, and the level of service provided, our stay was truly worthy of a five‑star rating.

Grand Hotel Tremezzo was absolutely outstanding. We felt like royalty from our arrival until our reluctant departure. It was first class, 5 star luxury 24/7. We spent 3 days & 2 glorious nights in an upgraded Terrace Garden Suite. This enormous 2 room, 2 bathroom suite accommodated our 17 year old daughter in a queen sofa bed, with a beautiful garden deck outside, & side deck with panoramic Lake Como views. It was private, palatial, & had every conceivable bathroom accessory, fully stocked fridge & pantry with snacks, & multiple Nespresso pods for whatever your coffee preference may be. The King bed was super comfortable, as were the fluffy soft towels & bathrobes. There even was a custom sewing kit with safety pins, multiple coloured threads, buttons etc amongst the multiple accessories inside the second wardrobe. Breakfast was an indulgent affair, which was leisurely, well staffed, and honestly the biggest choice & range of breakfast options imaginable. On top of this, there was the option of ordering whatever one desired, cooked to order. My personal favourite was the cereal options, (crazy I know) with so many additional condiments to add - it was like being in a candy store. I cannot even begin to rave about the enormous cheese options, as well as numerous spreads, fruits, hams & delicious pastries to die for. I thought we would skip lunch given the 7 course breakfasts, but with so many restaurant options & jaw dropping views to enjoy, we managed to wine & dine the afternoons & evenings away in awe of the ever changing views & absolute beauty of the hotel. The fitness centre is across 3 floors, with cardio equipment first, strength training 2nd, & the best equipped functional fitness I've ever seen on the 3rd floor. It was the perfect way to try & reverse the indulgences from the previous days. We also made good use of the heated outdoor lap pool, & were even brought fresh hot tea by the...

Our experience at this hotel was truly unforgettable. The atmosphere was luxurious yet very relaxing, and the views of Lake Como were absolutely breathtaking. The room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully decorated. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and provided excellent service throughout our stay. We especially enjoyed the outdoor pool and the delicious Italian cuisine served at the restaurant. The location is perfect for exploring the surrounding area while still enjoying peace and comfort.
The old architecture and the beautiful gardens and hiking trail.
Beautiful Belle Epoque hotel on Lake Como, across from Bellagio. Lovely garden view our small suite luxuriously appointed. Greeted warmly at reception by professional agents. Received tour of our room and explanation of its features and cold Proseco with sweet treats. The room had a king bed, sofa, chairs and coffee table, and antique writing desk.modern marble bath designed for couples. Many lotions and potions for hair and body. Warm towels, lush cotton bath robes. The hotel provided a complimentary breakfast buffet with every imaginable sweet and savory breakfast food. Tables faced Lake Como providing a fabulous view. Staff in restaurants, front desk and entrance harkened back to another era of personal service. Our four day stay exceeded our expectations in every way.
