Beautifully renovated/furnished rooms marred by how tiny they are

Redeemed a 1 night stay here (Amex SQ Krisflyer Ascend Credit Card), didnt receive a room upgrade (only a Hilton silver) and was assigned room 1017. I really appreciated the dimmable room lights, and especially how the warm lighting is indirect without any glaring downlights in the room. TWG tea and nespresso capsules are a solid pick. The kids slippers, activity books and colour pencils are top-tier as well.

The choice of marble tiles in the bathroom, which are a personal aesthetic favourite of mine, are cold to the touch and very slippery - great that the anti-slip mat is provided by default. Do note that the shower screen door no longer closes fully. The rainshower is terribly water-saving, and is belongs more to a 3 star hotel. When turning the rainshower off, a jet of cold water will chill you from the shower head. Some issues probably with the internal plumbing?

Having stayed at both the Hilton and Mandarin Orchard before they were renovated and rebranded into Voco and Hilton, the shrinking of the room size from their property is evident in this most basic room. It is challenging to justify paying ~$400-500/night for the tiny hotel room, as there are many other 5 star hotels that provide a more generously spaced room in central Singapore.

The consolation to the really tiny room is the amazing location, with Taka/Wisma/Ion, 313, Paragon, Orchard Central/gateway, centerpoint all within walking distance. One is spoilt for options to window shop and eat. Perhaps when we have a higher tier status with Hilton Honors (and hopefully a higher chance of a complimentary room upgrade), we'd return for a 3-5 night staycay again.

Super comfortable with excellent Diamond benefits
Pros:

Booked this hotel at the last minute and just went for the cheapest room category. At check-in, I was upgraded to a suite without asking and the entire staff couldn't have been nicer. Compared to other Hiltons, the Executive Lounge at this property is truly phenomenal with high delicious food available throughout the day. Highly recommended!

Champagne brunch - still the best !
Pros:

We had the Sunday champagne brunch which was awesome. Pauline and her team looked after us really well. We were a group of brits and Aussies and everyone enjoyed the food and drinks. Been coming to the Hilton for some years and it continues to deliver.
