Breakfast was poor. No proper tea making facility and insipid food.
Beautifully renovated and very well located
The staff were nice but a lot of fine tuning is needed to make the service match the setting. At 4am they decided to empty what sounded like hundreds of wine bottles into the recycling, waking everyone up. We’d also paid for dinner bed and breakfast in advance though repeatedly were asked to prove this by digging out emails - once in reception, and twice at dinner, when the restaurant manager ended up hovering over us with a clipboard for a good 10 minutes asking all three members of our party to get our phones out and find the paperwork from our original booking yet again.
The decor was really lovely and tied in with the property. Very well presented and professional renovation.
Restaurant food was delicious.
My room faced over the street the view was nice but the noise from the buses at the bus stop below was quite annoying and kept me up.
Usually stay in another hotel round the corner but really fancied giving the Met a go this weekend. Reception and the room were very clean and furnished to a high standard. Bed really comfortable and location really handy for the city centre.
There is no real bar in this hotel. The bar is located in the restaurant and has more of a canteen feel to it than a destination bar or hotel.
The bathrooms did not feel finished - the toilet roll holder was loose, there was grout all over the (black) floor tiles and I could have done a better job siliconing the shower tray in after a night out. Shower tray was also not properly installed as clearly not supported underneath in the middle as it flexed when you got in the shower.
One very slow lift is a real downside.
Everything! 10/10 experience, staff were very friendly and attentive, breakfast was delicious and well presented. Luxury experience.

Our room was smaller than our friends even though we paid the same price
Room was very clean and very comfortable, also very quiet which was great. Bathroom was sparkling with a shower that was easy to use and good toiletries supplied. Overall the character of the original Victorian building had been well preserved and modernised.
Tiny niggle but the reception area carried a whiff of cooking smells. We weren't in there for long but it was noticeable as you pass through to the dining room and bar.

was amazing so much choice, cooked perfect compliments to the chef, parking for guests easy and what makes this even better is there is access to the hotel from car park without having to carry bags up steps massive plus, Staff super helpful, and welcoming, overall a fabulous place to stay
There was nothing i didnt like, next time i will book larger room but thats just my choice
