The room was great. I purchased a room upgrade for a junior suite (they emailed me an offer to bid for a room upgrade and I was pleased my relatively low bid was accepted). Very convenient location next to the station. Nice breakfast. The bar and restaurant area was nice, as was the food at dinner time. I was also given a complimentary late check-out (until 12 noon) after I asked at reception.
Not enough plug sockets in room, and none close to bed. I felt the check-in time (4pm) was too late. The standard in my experience is 2pm or 3pm, and I wasn’t offered any chance to check-in early when I arrived at 3pm. I also felt that starting serving dinner at 7pm was a little late too. Sometimes you need to eat a little earlier than that. Decor is quite ostentatious (the room had a lot of gold paint), which I didn’t mind, but it felt a little over the top. Also the televisions were not working well (poor reception).
Great location and the staff were great.
My room was dirty and I had to ask for it to be hoovered. The toilet also needed cleaning! However my friends room was great.
We came to chester for my daugters hen party there was 14 of us and from the start of booking the staff went above and beyond to do doing 3 sepaerate bookings and making sure we was all next to each other the staff exceptional and rooms lovely thank you defanetely be back
I cant say anything to be honest wish i had of stayed longer
Nice welcome, reception very friendly. Bar staff where nice.
The room, no.92. Must be a converted store room or something. Very noisy, next to a door that was constantly banging. Loud street noise, no insulation on the window.
Shower head hanging out of the wall and shower gel etc just sitting on the floor, minging slip mat in the shower.
Lots of empty bottles, plates of waste food, discarded general rubbish left outside our room.
Posizione
Hotelli oli sijainniltaan erinomainen tarpeisiimme nähden, rautatieasemaa vastapäätä. Yleisvaikutelma oli persoonallinen ja historiallisuutta huokuva. Huone oli värikäs ja hauskan kuninkaallisteemainen. Sisäpiha oli hieno ja mielenkiintoinen.
Aamiainen oli vaatimaton. Olisi kiva, kun leivän päälle olisi enemmän vaihtoehtoja.
I had requested a quiet room. On arrival, I was given a first floor room looking out onto a main road!,
I complained, and was upgraded to a very nice quiet room. Should have been done in the first place!
The cleaners need to look behind the wall mounted television, it was thick of dust.
Having to complain about the room I was allocated.
Nice property.
Breakfast is good with many options.
Old style tv in the rooms. Charges for one night are too much. There is no regulation in hotel industry in the UK. Fully capitalist.
The breakfast and the space.
The doors are old and poor quality, I could hear the noisy from outside.
The room was an upgrade. Great bed. Tea and coffee.
No bidet.

Location
Dear for what it was
Room was a sh!t hole
Ceiling was all water stained and falling down, but grubby, cheap bodged decorating in room, car park was extra £16
Total paid £160 to stay there and it was realistically a £70 a night standard hotel
Rooms were very shabby (Rooms 221 and 222) Paint flaking off the ceiling, Bath chipped, toilet bad flushing, no toilet roll holder, Door bad to close generally only a 2 star rating.
Food very basic. Breakfast totally self service and choice very limited.
Cash less hotel yet no mention of this when booking. Very overpriced.
