The room was clean and fresh. The bar was lovely and the putside space stunning
Nothing to not like..
Only the location
Room was dreadful it was very tatty the ensuite was very tired badly needs a makeover. The window in the room would not open it was like a sauna currently all over UK we are experiencing extreme temperatures, not being able to open a window is poor also a health risk. If there had been a fire it doesn't bear thinking about. Didn't get any sleep there wasn't a top bedsheet only a blanket. There were 2 fans and they were useless.
The breakfast was poor the choice was limited, no fresh orange fruit or yogurt.
The accommodation is rated on booking.com as 3 stars. I would rate it at a maximum of 1 star.
Location
Room needs a revamp, electrics were a bit worrying
Everything
The shower
The breakfast was OK and bar facilities considering late arrival were good.
I was in room 16 (top floor) and the day had been hot probably full sunshine. I'm not sure because I had spent the whole day on cancelled and delayed trains from Scotland so I was not very happy. The temperature in the room was over 30C and still 27C in the morning. There was a large fan hiding in a cupboard which did help during the night. I do not recommend rooms on the top floor after a day of sunshine. Room facilities were good though for the price.
Didn't have Breakfast
The Douvey was heavy and very hot
Not applicable.
The room was uncomfortable due to heat. There was no fan. We only got given another room with fan because we insisted on getting a refund.
Convenient location for my business meeting. Plenty of parking spaces with shade, which in recent hot weather car wasn't like a sauna! Was dealt with promptly at reception. Good free Wifi network was able to collect emails and do general surfing. Room was clean and bathroom look like it had been recently fitted. Room although a bit small was equipped with a fan and the tea/coffee making facilities. I didn't eat in the restaurant but the menu had many options at reasonable prices.
The room was a little on the small side, and the ceiling was marked with possible water damage. Room price was okay though and it was clean. I stayed there during a heat wave and it was difficult to get a comfortable nights sleep. A fan by a window helped a bit, and as I only needed to stay one night didnt concern me too much. Doubt I would have been much more comfortable in a Premier Inn or similar TBH.
Location and off street parking.
We had breakfast on the first day. We ordered this at 8am but it was not served at the table until 09.40am.
Also the radiators in our room came on at night resulting in the room being ridiculously hot making sleeping a problem.
The hotel was externally very pretty and had a lovely dining and pub area. There was private parking. The room was a reasonable size and was clean.
The room needed some attention - when we entered, there was a sewage smell coming from the bathroom. The security chain on the door was not fixed and fell off when applied. The bath is extremely slippery - there is a warning but perhaps mats should be supplied. Breakfast was a bit of a shambles - orders forgotten; no cutlery until requested; a cup provided without a saucer; and despite a long wait, my breakfast order was given to another guest in error!
Location to Train station
Room very small with small single bed.
Not great value for money particular with breakfast excluded.
It was a lovely comfortable place to stay
It wasn't clear that the dining room and bar would be closed for Sunday evening
The outside
The room was marketed as a Superior King, but it was anything but superior or a king! On arrival we went to the room and found the radiator in the bathroom was on full blast and wouldn't turn off! When we reported it we were told to keep the door closed, eventually are making a few complaints someone came up and fixed it.
We asked for additional fan and they brought up a small fan covered in dust.
The bathroom had a sticker on the wall of the shower warning it was slippery bit not mat in the bath or handles to help in case?
The socket for the Tav was hanging out of the wall, although it was behind the upper part of the TV we didn't us the TV just incase, it didn't feel safe
The room looked like they were trying to update it but it wasn't quite there and not worth £101. We were 2 females travelling and had no alternative but to stay the night and left as soon as we could in the morning.
Location for requirement
Having to pay for extras for breakfast
The location was excellent, being a short five minute walk from the train station. The breakfast was okay.
When I arrived, the key wouldn't open the door to my room.
My room was situated at the side of a walkway which was in constant use by noisy members of the public.
On the first morning, breakfast arrived an hour late and despite being on the menu, there were no pancakes. On the third morning, there was no bacon, which was also on the menu.
