Nice hotel in a good location
Don’t believe the bed was king size as specified and it was a big disappointment that not even hotel guests could use a section of the terrace after 9.30pm. 9.30pm seems very early to not be disturbed other guests in their rooms. Unfortunately this did ruin my stay
Het ontbijt & het uitzicht.
Het Hotel was donker ingericht (muren) en omdat ik claustrofobisch ben vond ik dit niet prettig.
Location very good. Food above average. Breakfast very good. Staff friendly.
Nothing particularly negative to write.
Location
We paid for an upgrade for a suite and were put in a basement.
I've stayed in the hotel before in a much cheaper room with a far better view. In essence we were ripped off.
Fantastic views in good location for Clifton
Car parking charges apply
Staff were very helpful and kind. The terrace is a joy. The room was comfortable and clean. Having a safe, tea and coffee facilities and fridge was very convenient. The air conditioning was very efficient.
The room layout could be improved - it was tight between the bed and the wardrobe.
Parking was a challenge
Room wasn’t cleaned properly.
Shower gel dispenser was empty
Wonderful!
Nothing
The location is fantastic and the hotel was able to offer permits so that we could park nearby. There is an amazing terrace at the rear of the property with a great view of the bridge.
I paid £477 for a Classic Gorge Vista Room. This is expensive, but I was happy to pay for the view. Unfortunately, there was barely a view. You could only see the gorge and the bridge if you stood against the wall to the left hand side of the window. If you simply looked through the window whilst in the room, you could see nothing except the tops of the trees across the gorge. If you stood right by the right hand side of the window and looked out, you had a view of a large brick chimney which runs up the side of the building. As an aside, the window was small and the room was dark.
We ate in the restaurant at lunchtime, which was passable, but not great and breakfast was the same.
We have stayed in other Hotel Du Vin properties and they have been of a much higher standard, as have their restaurants.
Location is great as we can walk to Clifton village, enjoy an outdoor terrace, get easily to where we needed to go.
Room was great size and very well appointed and comfortable. The view is a lovely thing to wake up to.
Beds are getting a little old but linen adn pillows are fabulous.
Breakfast is extremely expensive with little option for a smaller cheaper option that includes protein.
The smell in the lobby area and up the main staircase is not good. It smells like a dirty mop. I wish you could do something about this or ventilate it.
Excellent place to stay.
Nothing
I booked a balcony suite overlooking the Clifton suspension bridge and the Avon Gorge, which made it the best hotel location I have ever stayed at as an experienced traveller. The brilliant restaurants, cafes and pubs within a stones throw of the hotel provided for an amazing time.
The decor of the hotel, the bedroom and shower facilities are staff are all superb. A stay at this hotel is very highly recommended. A very relaxed and friendly atmosphere with no elitist overtones of privilege.
A quality hotel in a fabulous location. Lovely room, extremely comfy huge bed and beautifully styled bathroom. Good attentive staff, great breakfast choices in restaurant with superb view and lovely evening meal with plenty of delicious vegetarian choices.
Very expensive and extremely busy due to Balloon Fiesta. Hotel bar is very small and we found it difficult to get a seat anywhere. Extremely difficult to park in the surrounding area as most is permitted.
The location was excellent. The food in the restaurant was exceptional. Every staff member was very friendly. We loved our stay and will be back.
Nothing.
We had great cocktails made by Josh and Connor in the cocktail bar. They were really friendly and we had a laugh as well as great quality drinks!
