Without a doubt The Great Southern Hotel is by far the friendliest Hotel we have stayed in. It was our second time to stay there and we will definitely go back. Its a unique experience in a stunning historical building. Spotless clean, super comfortable beds and fabulous food. We have stayed in several Hotels in killarney over the years and its definitely the best. Right beside the station. This time we had one of their treatments , I chose the back, shoulder and head massage with a facial. Lana looked after me and it was fantastic. Quality . She really was brilliant. I really cannot fault my stay and am already looking forward to going back. We travel around Europe alot but have to say The Great Southern in Killarney is our favourite place to stay.
The location, the staff, the rooms, the property all super.
While we were upgraded to a Garden room, which was very kind, the room overlooked the noisy wedding reception area and lacked Aircon on what was probably the hottest night in June. We were moved the following without fuss.
In a 5 star property you shouldn't have to ask for nuts / nibbles with your drink in the bar and why in a double room is there one ever one bag stool? 🫣
The pool and spa area is combined with the wedding reception area meaning you have to walk through a wedding in full swing to get to the gym/spa/pool. Particular!
A most enjoyable week-end. First class.
Hotel looking much smarter than last time we were there. We enjoyed the pool which was well run and quiet. Room was lovely and spacious, and all the staff are excellent, polite, friendly and well trained. Service was always prompt and efficient.
Room was a bit hot (but we were there in a heatwave).
Great place to stay. The location was wonderful. The staff was fabulous especially Michael in the bar.
Exceptional service and treatment throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived to our departure every single member of staff was warm, welcoming and helpful. We had a meal in the restaurant, last minute without booking they kindly accommodated us and served up some great French / Irish cuisine. Friday night was great I love the traditional of 18:54. We will be back again the next time we're in the area.

This hotel is fabulous from moment we stepped in to leaving we were treated so well by everyone all staff are so friendly and helpful the rooms are beautiful and so is everywhere in hotel it is so relaxing in beautiful gardens too

The refreshing punch on arrival was very appreciated on a very warm day.
The location of the hotel is so central, breakfast just gorgeous and loved the grounds. We had great fun with the giant chessboard and rings in the garden and the pool with jacuzzi a perfect way to start the day.
The staff were very welcoming, nothing too much trouble. We were celebrating my parents birthdays and a medley of desserts was a lovely surprise in their bedroom.

The room itself was fabulous, we booked a suite and it was like something out of a fairy tale, pure luxury.
The staff - who were first class - friendly, accommodating, professional; the luxurious environment, gardens and spa (and staff there too).
