Pros:

La ubicación es perfecta. Está súper cerca de la estación central. Caminando 5 minutos, por lo que sí llevas maleta es facilisimo.

También son super amables. No hay ascensor pero la mayoría de hoteles y casas en amsterdam son así.

Cons:

Nada todo súper bueno.

Boa localização, mas com muitas escadas
Pros:

A localização é excelente, bem perto da estação central. O pessoal sempre bastante atencioso e simpático. Cama confortável e com coberta, ar condicionado funciona bem. A limpeza era feita diariamente, o que é muito bom.

Cons:

O hotel possui muitas escadas (estreitas e íngremes) e não tem elevador. Se tiver qualquer dificuldade de locomoção, não se hospede aqui de nenhuma maneira. Além disso, o quarto é bem pequeno e não é possível ter privacidade no banheiro, pois a porta possui uma abertura para ventilação. Acomodação cara. Um pouco de cheiro de mofo.

Incident in Hotel Van Gelder

On 6th September we had an incident with the hotel and the receptionist. Firstly we requested canal view he told us there is no availability we were fine with it. We went to our room for five minutes left our belongings and we were leaving the hotel. When we were at the stairs receptionist requested to leave our key to the reception, which is absurd. He told us that, this is law and it should be respected by foreigners. When we confronted him by we will leave the key if he would sign a paper, If there is any missing or stolen items in our room we will leave the key with the peace of mind. He started to shout at us and shiver by anger after this request of liability. My fiance was scared and let alone he started to disrespect both of us. After this incident we were having a nice day and requested cancellation of our resevation. Our key was still on us however was on the table on the reception when i requested cancellation. After hearings this he got our key after few more minutes of talking and he shouting he left the reception and started to go around the hotel. We agreed that we will leave and can not stay in a safe environment now. We requested the key from him to take our belongings however he kept it hostage and did not give the key to us and he was trying to threaten us by calling the police while he was in the wrong. As we can not get our belongings and leave we called the police, while we called he also tried to call to police as well. Police arrived and told us that there is no law stating you have to leave the key when you are leaving the hotel and there is no house rules in booking or in the hotel stating that as well. We had police incident and I will turn this into a civil case if I can not get refund and an apology from the hotel management regarding the issue.


As who is reading this We definetly do not recommend to stay in this hotel of anger and which who does not take any liability which is absurd.

Solo traveler liked that it was within walking distance to pretty much everything, especially Central Station.

Cons:

Even though I couldn’t hear any outside noise, Every night I was woken up by people being VERY loud and probably drunk coming into hotel. My room was in the main hallway of hotel rooms. People would run into the walls, bang things, yelling and the very last night I was woken up by someone banging into my door. Then in the morning I was woken up early by the cleaning crew. I got around 4-5 hours of sleep! The last night I only got 3 hrs of sleep because I had an early am flight. I did go out of my room once at 2am and people to please tune down the noise, they laughed and kept walking and talking loudly. The hotel should put up signs everywhere to let customers know to be respectful when coming in late to others and keep the noise down. I’m usually asleep by 11pm and I don’t feel it’s too much to ask others to be quiet. I’m an early raiser, they wouldn’t have enjoyed being woken up at 6 or 7am after being up till 2 or 3 am.

Très bien situé, à deux pas des rues piétonnes. Personnel très agréable ,chambre et salle bain rénovées très fonctionnelles. Très bon rapport qualité/prix. Parking avec réduction client à deux minutes à pied. J’y retournerai sans hésiter lors d’un prochain séjour.

Aprospe de gara, la 4-5min, aproape de piata Dam, aproape de orice. M-am simtit in siguranta si confortabil. Privelistea minunataaaaaaaaaaa. Am stat doar 2 nopti, dar a schimbat zilnic prosoapele.

Perfect for a single traveler! Comfy enough just to rest my head and freshen up.
Pros:

The location was easy to travel to once coming out of the train station. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very centrally located to a lot around the city.

Cons:

The only draw back are the stairs, which i did know about before arrival. Most old buildings in Amsterdam don't have a lift. Part of the culture, i was okay with it. However, i packed small suitcases, I would not bring want to drag big luggage up those flights of stairs.
