The breakfasts were freshly cooked to order. The high tea display of pastries and granola was an elegant touch. Excellent standard of produce.
Prices seemed a lot higher than our previous visit. We were also charged to enter the spa.
Good view
Still work to be done
Best spa/hotel I have ever stayed in.
Staff were brilliant, spa wonderful, restaurant superb. Can't be faulted.
Unable to find anything!
The suite looking onto the sea was warm, cosy, comfortable and had a fantastic panoramic view of the sea. I could have sat there all day just looking at the view……was cleaned impeccably every day.
Breakfast in the style of afternoon tea… just genius.
Staff couldn’t do enough to help, especially as we needed a lot of taxi info for all the trips we were packing in. Thank you so much :)
Also shout out to the reception staff at the spa, so kind and lovely. Thank you :)
Lastly, the cakes……..amazing doesn’t do them justice!
Thanks to all the staff who made our trip so special.
We will be back soon!
Nothing. Ignore the negative reviews. They are so wrong!
De welness faciliteiten.
Het ontbijt.
Location was excellent for sightseeing and enjoying the area.
none really.
We had an accessible room and it was very big with a really well laid out bathroom. Super shower. Loads of room. The dining roomand bar had superb views. The hotel was very tastefully designed.
The town of Ballycastle was a disappointment. Very down at heel so you have to travel. However the scenery was great.
High quality throughout
Room too hot at night
The place was beautiful, friendly staff. Clean facilities..good WiFi in the rooms.
The Lookout Restaurant was incredibly underwhelming in terms of taste and value. Very limited vegan options and honestly just not nice at all. For a vegan pizza and simple pasta dish, a coke and a glass of wine, the bill came to £52. It just was not worth it at all. I had also reserved a table prior to arriving, alongside a welcome slate for our anniversary, it was confirmed over the phone as booked, but upon arrival to the restaurant, there was no booking. It didn't take them long to find us a seat however. But unfortunately, the surprise slate plate for my husband was not included. Overall, the dining experience was a black mark on our stay.
Facilities, location and staff.
Price is slightly high
The rooms and breakfast were of excellent standard.
The use of the pool was an additional charge
Breakfast was lovely with a good range of food available. Rooms a good size & beds very comfortable. Spa was lovely & had an amazing seaweed treatment overlooking the ocean & wonderful views.
Sitting area outside of apartment was lovely with great views, however no table/chairs to sit on. Required like others to take chairs from inside to outside. The gym was not open at 8 am!! Very disappointing.
A nice walk into Ballycastle all downhill - coming back to hotel was all up hill! Maybe offering a shuttle service down to town would be a great idea.
Breakfast was excellent rooms very comfy and quality decor. Staff top notch.
Nothing
Location close to town, approx 2 mile walk or drive.
We stayed at The Salthouse Hotel in Ballycastle for one night as a family of four, with our children aged 16 and 13. The hotel is clearly aiming to offer an upmarket, modern experience, and a significant amount of money has obviously been invested in the property. Unfortunately, while the setting and décor were impressive, the overall experience was let down by poor attention to detail, inconsistent service and, most importantly, serious issues during our evening meal.
We were allocated Room 305, described as a Suite with Sea View. To be fair, there was a sea view, and the accommodation was spacious, with a small living room and kitchenette-style area, a separate bedroom and a sofa bed prepared for the children. The room itself was comfortable and generally fine.
However, only two towels had been provided for four guests, so I had to contact reception. Additional towels were delivered reasonably quickly. My wife had also forgotten cotton pads, and when I asked whether the hotel had any amenity packs containing facial pads, I was advised that only dental packs were available.
We had booked dinner in the hotel’s main restaurant, which is described by the hotel as fine dining. The menu looked promising, but the service got off to a very poor start. After a female member of staff had taken our drinks order, a male server came over to the table and simply said, “Go.” I was unsure what he meant and said, “Sorry?” He then responded along the lines of, “What do you want? Go.” It was abrupt, rude and completely out of keeping with the type of service expected in a restaurant presenting itself as fine dining.
We ordered a Gran Reserva Rioja. While I briefly left the table to familiarise myself with the hotel, a different and less expensive Rioja was brought to the table and opened. No explanation was given. When I returned and questioned the bottle, the waitress checked with colleagues and eventually confirmed that the wine we had selected was unavailable.
Absolutely stunning hotel in a stunning location.
Clean, comfortable, excellent staff, brilliant food.
Nothing. Exceptional!
Think it would be better to include Spa access in the price though.
