Pleasant stay in a well located hotel
Pros:

Hotel Victoria is located mid way between the Lake shoreline and the old town at the top of the hill. It’s also adjacent to the Metro that runs up and down the hill which made it very easy to visit both locations without climbing millions of stairs. What’s more the hotel supplied us with Lausanne travel cards for our stay which included free use of all public transport including the Metro. The hotel is at least 120 years old and architecturally would be classifies as Art Nouveau. The inside is beautiful and decorated in the same style.our room (Junior Suite) was huge which was a great relief from some of the rather tiny rooms we have had in other hotel s on our trip. The reception staff were excellent and gave us an excellent suggestion to visit Chillon Castle as we arrived at 11:00am and our room was not available at that time. We were able to visit the Castle (well worthwhile) by train and bus and then return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Cons:

The hotel is rated as a 4 star hotel, however we were surprised that we were supplied with paper cups for our coffee/tea maker and plastic beakers for other drinks. There was also no bottle opener/corkscrew available if wine or beer was your choice of beverage. This was a minor inconvenience but is really something that should be addressed by this hotel. Most travellers would expect proper cups and glasses and something to open drinks in a 4 star hotel. Of more concern is that all the power outlets in our room were Swiss which are not compatible with European plugs. The hotel do have adapters for use but on our visit they are all being used by other guests and the only solution offered was for me to wander down the street and purchase one from an electronics store close by. Thankfully the store did have one, and only one, available for purchase. In my view this could be a major issue and needs addressing by the senior management of the hotel. Overall, our experience was overwhelmingly positive given the issues raised earlier.

A very nice historic hotel that is very well maintained.
Pros:

The room was large and very nice bathroom and it had an elevator. It was also very close to the train station, Metro and bus lines.

Cons:

Some breakfast items were not replaced during the breakfast hour and fridge in the room didn’t work.

Highly recommend. Convenient location by train station. Very nice large rooms.
Pros:

Great location. Very short walk from train station. Rooms recently renovated. Large bright clean bathroom. Staff was very friendly. We didn’t get breakfast but from what we saw it looked good.

Cons:

We were only there for one night so didn’t have a chance to explore the neighborhood but did not see many restaurants etc

Ich empfehle das Hotel weiter, sehr freundliches Personal, saubere, schöne Zimmer aber beim Frühstück könnte man sich me
Pros:

Die Räumlichkeiten waren sehr ansprechend und sehr schön eingerichtet

Cons:

Das Frühstück könnte besser sein - keine Müsli nur Cornflakes und Schokoflakes. Alles abgepackt. Die Kaffemaschine ist eine richtige Geduldsprobe.

Highly recommend!
Pros:

Everything!! Staff were super friendly and helpful, location was great, and the city pass they provided us got us around the city by Metro!

Rooms wete very erll appointed, spacious, and beautifully quiet!! Really enjoyed everything about our stay, just wish we could have stayed longer!!

Cons:

Only the little bit of uphill from the train station!!! 😉

Zalig rustige kamer, goed gelegen hotel enkel jammer van het ontbijt.
Pros:

Locatie en kamer was zeker perfect.
Alles was er wat er moest zijn.

Cons:

Het ochtendontbijt liet te wensen over. Het buffet was mimi-minimaal, schaal die voorzien was voor charcuterie of gerookte zalm bleef leeg, dus er was enkel nog keuze uit confituur, choco of gebakken ei.
Geen glutenvrije aanbieding
Vaak moesten mensen hun eigen borden zetten en de borden en tassen van voorgangers afruimen daar er nergens een personeelslid te bespeuren viel.
Als er dan toch iemand kwam was het enkel om je kamernummer op te nemen en daarna verdween hij of zij.
Heel jammer omdat het een leuk hotel was.
Moest ik terug gaan dan zeker zonder ontbijt.
