Fairmont Royal Pavilion Barbados Resort

We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 stay holiday at your hotel. It was recommended to us by friends but we had read several negative TP reviews prior to our stay and so we were a little nervous what we would experience.
We arrived to a friendly warm greeting when checking in which was a quick process. We were offered some rum punch which was a nice start to our holiday then shown to our room which was spacious although a few areas did look a little tired. We had a view to die for (with a good sized terrace) of what I can only imagine must be one of the world’s best beaches. This really is the Fairmonts biggest draw…the beach, it’s absolutely stunning.
All the staff we engaged with were friendly, fun and in most cases efficient.
Special mention goes to Nicole who was always so smiley and attentive at the beach. Lorenzo, Joanne and Alison were also staff members we engaged with often and who were always eager to please. Thank you very much to Marva Gail who sorted out a small issue at dinner one evening for us, she went above and beyond for our family.
Whilst breakfast at the hotel was good, we felt that the quality could have been better.
One of the restaurants was closed during our 8 day stay and whilst the beach bar offered a good varied lunch and dinner menu, it would have been good to have another option. We did however take advantage of all the brilliant restaurants that were only around 10/15 mins away in an Uber.
We have been fortunate enough to stay at lots of wonderful hotels over the world and I feel it’s fair to say that the Fairmont in Barbados has some areas to work on. It really could be an exceptional hotel in an exceptional location.

From the time you arrive at the security gate, the service starts. Fantastic and friendly staff. This is paradise. The hotel rooms were clean and very comfortable.

We have just completed a wonderful 12-day Bed and Breakfast stay at the Fairmont Royal Pavilion, and we are absolutely blown away. Set in pretty gardens overlooking the most beautiful aquamarine sea, we stayed in a Signature Oceanfront King on the 3rd Floor (Room 337) which had the most incredible view. The bed was comfortable and had plug points on both sides. Tea and coffee facilities were great, and there is a stocked, reasonably priced mini-bar. The room was very quiet and was serviced twice a day to a exceptionally high standard.The food at Taboras Restaurant was delicious. We were impressed on every occasion with the pizza, fish, salads, and burgers, to name a few, which were all excellent. Breakfast was served efficiently and was inclusive of all the usuals—hot food, eggs cooked to order, and bacon—but also some delicious Caribbean options alongside fresh fruit, cereals, and pastries.The pool was lovely and as warm as a bath, but we spent most of our time at the beach, which is even more beautiful than in the pictures. It is super relaxing, offering the perfect balance of waves gently lapping while boats and jet skis whizz by to watch. It was always easy to find a sun lounger, which were set up with two towels per bed each day and followed up with excellent bar and food service all day. While on the beach, we used the floats out at sea to rest on and had a go at the complimentary paddleboarding, which was readily available. Other watersports are available at a cost; we did a boat trip to swim with turtles, went jet skiing, and tried the inflatable sofa.There are fantastic local restaurants within steps of the hotel, including Lone Star and Jumas, as well as the burger van next door on the beach. You can easily walk into Holetown during the daytime or catch a quick taxi.The atmosphere at the hotel was very, very relaxed. There were a couple of nights with a live saxophonist at dinner, but no loud, overwhelming entertainment schedule, which is exactly how we liked it. The general bar and restaurant areas are all very sociable and friendly. The resort itself is lovely, but what truly makes this place paradise is the incredible staff. Every single day, the team went above and beyond with a warmth and professionalism that is impossible to match. Without fail, every member of staff we came across acknowledged us in a friendly manner, and so many around the resort even somehow knew our names! While the entire team was lovely, we want to give a special mention and massive thank you to the following staff members who made our stay so memorable:The Dining Team Mary Anne, Theresa, Tiffany, Andre, Sabrina, Shakeem and Kobe, The Bar Team Kyle, St. Claire, Reia, Lorenzo and Nicole and then Ryan and Michael on the beach thank you all for taking such amazing care of us. My wife and I stayed in Fairmont hotel whilst in Barbados. Have to say the hotel was really nice, our room (thanks to Tia-Marie) was amazing and breakfast was very tasty. The hotel staff were great however there are 3 staff members who were absolutely amazing. Tia-Marie was great. She gave us a great room and made this very special for us. She had an amazing customer service and definitely is an asset to the hotel. Also especial thanks to the beach crew, Ryan and Derek. Both were great and very friendly. They arranged a lot of water activities for us and absolutely amazing. Highly recommend the hotel

Outstanding , excellent, professional service from our first encounter with the bellman Seth, superb front desk staff including the beautiful young lady ( please excused my memory for not remembering her name) she escorted and explained how to use the amenities in the room for staying comfortable! Last but definitely not least! The Saturday night outdoor movie staff the hostess, our dinner waiter (Andre👍🏾) our breakfast and lunch staff on Sunday including the very nice waitress Theresa👍🏾Monday breakfast staff including the waitress (again my bad memory with names)

I have now added the Fairmont Royal Pavilion to the sister hotel Fairmont Princess in Bermuda as one of my favorite hotels to vacation at.

What can you say but stunning doesn't do it justice. Ultimate luxury, amazing staff and really good food.
Could do with some sharpening up n some areas but generally amazing and loved the breakfast

The staff, the location, the whole place was great. Fantastic stay, amazing staff, we had out daughter with us and they were so accommodating for Autumn

This hotel is just awful it is supposed to be 5 star it is tired & worn out according to its own literature it was last upgraded 38 years ago. its only plus point is it is near the sea. There are plenty of much better hotels near by.

My wife celebrated a very special birthday and we booked the Fairmont Royal Pavillion Hotel in Barbados through Hays Travel Norwich with the help of the amazing Kerry. We flew Virgin Atlantic from Heathrow and they were superb. But the hotel was absolutely unbelievable. Magnificent beach location, the most amazing ocean view room and above all, the best and friendliest staff we have ever come across in our many travels. They are truly special and from the moment we stepped into the hotel till we left,we were made to feel so welcome. Everything was in place from a superb reception to being looked after in every way possible. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. There are so many to thank. Tina Maria,Lavene and Antonio in reception,Jarisla a superb breakfast host,Michael and Shane brilliant beach attendants, Sholeene such great fun, the wonderful Kerli who I had so many chats with about our experience, Che and St Clair great hosts in the bar..I could go on and on. What a staff. The food was superb as was the service at every meal. If you like walking, the beach walk is incredible. Go into Holetown on the yellow bus. Great fun if scary! We went to the Lone Star restaurant nearby as well and that is incredible too.
Our room was tremendous and particularly loved the outside bed on the balcony to look at the dramatic sunsets.
We could not have asked for a better holiday and we would like to thank all the staff for making our stay so special. We have already looked at next year and we plan to return. We did make a couple of suggestions to improve the hotel even more when talking to Kerli. One is to utilise the beautiful gardens even more by putting more seating for clients to enjoy the wonderful plants and to label those plants and flowers. Secondly, perhaps have lighting on the tables in the amazing Taboras Restaurant to make an even more intimate dining setting but these are not criticisms just thoughts shared with Kerli.
Our final thought is that if you want to relax,be pampered and be in paradise, come here. It is truly wonderful

A wonderful hotel, staff is amazing, beach is one of the best in the whole world. Very relaxing, we came as a family and everyone enjoyed the stay. Would definitely return back

We recently stayed at the Fairmont Royal Pavilion and had a mixed but overall pleasant experience. The highlight was definitely the beach. Absolutely beautiful with calm turquoise water and a great stretch of sand. The restaurants were also very good and we enjoyed the food throughout the stay. The gym was excellent as well and very well equipped with Technogym equipment, which was a nice bonus.

That said, there were several issues that made the stay disappointing given the price point. The AC in our room was not working properly and leaked water onto the floor. The first night was uncomfortably hot and I barely slept. Unfortunately, the bed and pillows did not help much either. The mattress was firm but oddly unsupportive, and the pillows were far too soft for my liking.

Some areas of the hotel also feel dated and could really use renovation. At around $700 per night, the overall experience simply did not feel like a good value compared to other luxury properties.

The staff, however, were genuinely lovely across the property. Everyone was warm and helpful, and the beach server in particular worked incredibly hard all day long. Honestly, they could really use another server or two because one person was clearly covering a lot.

Overall, the setting and service culture are excellent, but the room comfort, maintenance issues, and value proposition took away from what could have been a truly outstanding stay.

I have absolutely no idea which hotel these people have been to. We have recently retuned from a 10 night stay at the Fairmont Royal Pavilion on a B&B basis. We found the breakfasts to have a huge selection which were all very nice indeed. We did not meet any staff who were either rude or miserable in fact quite the opposite. All of the staff that we met were happy in their work and only too pleased to have a chat and a laugh with and this is without exception. I agree that the exterior of the hotel needs updating especially around the pool area but the bedrooms were lovely and clean and very pleasant. We did not sunbathe on the beach areas but we clearly saw a number of sun beds that were available for us to use if required. We spent most of our time around the pool and at times there was perhaps a maximum of 12 people using this facility so plenty of sun beds available there also. All in all we had a wonderful time at the Fairmont and would definitely return.
