Very clean and remodeled in good taste. The building is old but everything was very nice and updated inside. It was in a perfect location, we were very close to restaurants, shopping even a convenience store.
I’d say if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs. Not that it’s super noisy but the walls are thin. I’m use to sleeping in a city so it didn’t bother me at all but I could hear if a door opened and closed.
The staff was very nice and the location couldn't be beat! The coffee in the morning was SO welcomed and there were so many places we could visit within walking distance.
The lobby was very small and we needed more lighting in the room. We were a bit cramped with four people but it was totally manageable and we loved having the balcony!

Reserved and paid for parking but one night we did not have spot!
Location and interior refurbishment.
1). Price is way too high. Was not up to $300 per night by the time everything was paid.
2). Staff in restaurant was among the worst I have ever experienced! Long wait, not attention to guests, guests getting silverware and table water for themselves while the server was lost in space.
We booked two rooms.They were spacious and clean.The Reception staff were very friendly. We liked the location close to Fillmore Street. Free morning coffee and tea was appreciated. The price was reasonable. We were initially allocated a room that was noisy but then reallocated to a quieter room. The garage gets booked up quickly but we there is a large car pack in the Japan Centre, which is in very short walking distance.
I liked how clean the bathroom and room was and how accommodating the staff are.
The shower was a bit of a weird situation. I couldn’t take a shower without getting water everywhere because of the door - it didn’t close properly.
This Hotel does not live up to the Kimpton Brand!
We stayed at TWO different hotels during out visit an this one was the BEST one!
Fist time staying at a VOCO hotel and we will be back.
My check- in experience was great, the lobby was clean and the room set up was AMAZING! Our guest room was clean and the amenities were great.

The convenience to explore Japan Town within walking distance and the comfort of the rooms. Safe underground garage
No signage of the breakfast area and bar. And operating hours of the bar was none existent. The hotel's website needs to be updated on food places that are in the area. The few listed no longer exist/closed down.
Breakfast was mentioned it's Thai influenced but nothing on the breakfast menu is Thai influence. More of standard American breakfast.
The room I selected mentioned sound proof and it wasn't really a sound proof room. Could hear our next door neighbors and people walking past the room.
