This hotel was wonderful in every way.
We stayed in Nashville for three nights and wanted a place that felt special, not just convenient. The Hermitage popped up at the top of Tripadvisor and everyone we spoke with seemed to love it, so we went for it—and it really delivered.
The location is perfect: right in the heart of downtown, close enough to walk easily to the Ryman Auditorium, the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Broadway honky‑tonks, and the Assembly Food Hall. The walk to everything was mostly downhill, which was great; the walk back was uphill, but at least we got our steps and a little cardio in!
The lobby is gorgeous—classic, elegant, and welcoming—and the rooms are big, light, and really comfortable. The mattress was one of the best I’ve ever slept on, so getting good sleep was no problem. The bathroom was also spacious, with a great shower that felt like a small luxury in itself.
The price is a bit on the higher side, but it feels like a true five‑star experience, and the service was flawless from start to finish. If you’re looking for a luxurious, relaxing place to stay that’s close enough to Broadway to be convenient but far enough away to feel calm and quiet, this is definitely one to check out.
Nice visit! Check in went well and everything in the room was as it should be. Service was outstanding. Great job!
Travelled in from England to experience Nashville and chose this hotel as it looked to be centrally based but with a bit of history.
It does not disappoint with a grand entrance and a relaxed bar / lobby area which is nice to just chill or whilst you wait for a car. It’s brilliantly located if you want to walk everywhere as it’s nice and located and the little pastry shop at the entrance is well worth a visit.
We got there late the first night and they ensured we could still eat at the restaurant even though they were finishing up which was a lovely touch and the bar is well worth a visit just to sit and let the time go by. The menu in the restaurant is nice and varied and the pizza for a quick bite to eat is superb if you just want to share something. Breakfast is American but with a touch of class.
The rooms are large and spacious and the mini bar is well stocked so you won’t want for anything with a turn down service for when you return from dinner.
If you are going to Nashville you have to stay here. We are going back in October as it’s the only place to stay in my book.
If you want to stay at a hotel that is lovely to look at, has great service, wonderful bed, amazing bathrooms and good shampoo and conditioner -- stay here. The people who make your room a truly one of a kind experience really need to be commended. The staff goes out of their way to make your stay simply amazing. The food isn't all that -- or was kinda bland for my taste, but the drinks are fun and innovative. If you want pure indulgence and xcellent service, it is really an amazing place to stay. There was a wedding party coming in and even though I was there for work, the families looked happy and throughly indulged.
This was my first-ever stay at a five-star hotel, and I expected an unparalleled experience, but it fell far short. When I arrived two hours before check-in, I was told my room would be ready soon, and I was promised a call or text. After returning at 3:50 p.m., no one had contacted me. The room, when we finally got it, was dated—peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, broken dispensers for soap and shampoo left in place, and a double-paned window by the bathtub filled with black mold. For a luxury property, this is completely unacceptable. Additionally, the attached café, Pink Hermit, run by executive chef Jean-Georges, was a letdown. We arrived at 6:10 a.m., just after opening, but the coffee was ready, yet the pastries were not served until nearly 6:30. I expected far more precision and care. This stay did not live up to its reputation, and I would not return!
This is a follow up from The Hermitage:

“After my initial stay, the hotel promised to follow up and discuss my concerns. Despite two emails from me in the past week, I have received no response. This lack of communication, after their assurances, is completely unacceptable. What was supposed to be a five-star experience turned into a complete disappointment.”
Nice historical hotel
It was beautiful. We loved the flowers and the main entrance.
Beautiful hotel. Staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Definitely a five star hotel.
We just returned from a three night stay at The Hermitage Hotel. It’s an incredible hotel. We looked carefully at the other possibilities- The Four Seasons and the JR Marriott. We chose The Hermitage for the following reasons: 1) a historic classic Beaux Arts 1910 hotel, totally modernized, with an enormous WOW lobby with the mist beautiful ceiling we’ve ever seen. They have afternoon tea served there with a pianist, too! It’s only 122 rooms/suites: the hotel never feels crowded. The entry level room we booked is 490 sf. We booked through the Chase Saphire Reserve Luxury Visa program and luckily received a double upgrade to a junior suite. Absolutely courageous! The location is terrific. About .6 mile to the hustle and bustle of the Broadway bars and the important sites like The Country Music Hall of Fame and The Roman Auditorium. We received excellent pre-trip planning and service from Jordan Tolliver Director of Guest Services. 2) The other major reason is one of the very top NYC chef,s - Jean-Georges runs the food service here. They have the more casual The Pink Hermit( where we had three lunches) and Drusie & Darr where we had our breakfasts and two dinners. The food, service, presentation is first rate. EaterNashville thinks highly of Drusie & Darr and we saw many non-hotel patrons eating and getting the delicious coffee at The Pink Hermit. A terrific hotel experience in Music City
The hotel’s location was excellent, just about a quick 8 minute walk from Broadway and surrounded by many great restaurants. The staff were wonderful: friendly, professional, and always very helpful. The hotel itself was spotless and well maintained. We had a great stay and would definitely choose this hotel again.
Five stars. Dining five stars. Service five stars. Lobby. Five stars. Staff. Five stars
Everything about our stay was perfect. Room was clean and comfortable. Even with construction across the street the noise was not noticeable. Easy walk to The Gulch, Broadway, Ryman areas. We enjoyed afternoon cocktails at the lobby bar with history lessons on the room and the ladies the drinks were named after. If I make it back to Nashville The Hermitage will be my first choice of stay. The fitness center even had kettlebells which I use regularly at home with weights ranging from 8kg - 24kgs.
Wonderful location and absolutely beautiful hotel. The service was impeccable. I can't say enough about the staff, they were so helpful with everything- and we needed a lot of help with a mobility challenged traveler
Timeless elegance, impeccable service, and that rare feeling of true luxury.
Dinner at Drusie & Darr—pure magic.
Creative, refined, and one of the best meals we’ve had.
And breakfast at The Pink Hermit—iconic, chic, and simply fun.
Nashville at its absolute best
This hotel is beautiful. The rooms, the dining facilities, and common areas -- everything was lovely. Housekeeping was spectacular and provided lots of little extras each day which made us feel pampered and taken care of. We ate at both restaurants and found the food delicious. There seemed to be plenty of employees on the ground floor, welcoming you and available to help with whoever you needed. It hotel was close (an easy walk) to some of the attractions we were interested in seeing (The Ryman, The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Broadway, etc.) but in a quiet neighborhood.
Our checkout experience was extremely poor. Since we had a flight at 7:00 AM, we left the hotel at 5:00 AM. Despite being such a high-end property, there was only one staff member available. When we arrived at the front desk, he told us the system was already closed and that he couldn’t review the documents, even though I had not yet been able to check or confirm the extra charges.
Because he was the only person working, he then left to retrieve our car. Meanwhile, we realized that we had forgotten our bag inside the hotel. As the doors were locked, I was unable to re-enter the property to retrieve it. We repeatedly called the hotel and rang the bell multiple times, and in the process of trying not to leave our belongings behind, we were at risk of missing our flight.
It is absolutely unacceptable for a property of this level that guests cannot re-enter the hotel for nearly 20 minutes—especially considering that my passport was still inside the lobby, as I wasn’t even sure whether the checkout process had been properly completed.
Additionally, I had ordered balloons as a surprise for my sister’s birthday. On one document, the charge was around $185, while on another it was over $200. I cannot understand how balloons could cost a total of $385–400.
It is also very concerning that a single staff member was responsible for valet, checkout, and door duties all at once in such an expensive, five-star hotel.
