Both fine .

Cons:

Nothing electronic worked in the room other than the lights.A/C did NOT cool- fridge did Not work- Coffee maker did NOT work -TV sorta— partner left by Uber in the middle of the night- room hot—As a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum member - doubly not happy.
Ist night O.K. Second night Aweful- supposed to be “comped” but havnt seen it yet.

Beautiful property and great location
Pros:

Location is wonderful, walking distance to many activities and restaurants Rooms are beautiful and the rooftop bar is really nice

Cons:

No daily maid service, I guess. We stayed 4 nights and only had maid service one day after we requested at the front desk. Valet service is very pricey for Galveston at $35. That said, valet was very friendly and responsive.

Not just visibly pleasing
Pros:

The aesthetic of the whole hotel is gorgeous and elegant. The historical building and surrounding area completes the atmosphere of sophistication. Plus the oversized rooms are always a plus and the bed was comfortable for me to sleep.

Cons:

There is nothing I don't like about the hotel. I even enjoy coming into the cafe or bar when I'm not staying just to have a cocktail or a coffee.

Great location and amazing rooms.
Pros:

The location was central to everything in the strand district. I was able to walk to restaurants and local shops.

Cons:

I didn’t like the type of room I had was located in another building. I felt like I missed out on activities in the main building.

Dust behind doors and mold in the shower made me wonder how clean it was.
Mold in the ice machine. You could easily see it on the spout.

Great place to stay overnight prior to your cruise.
Pros:

Checking in/checking out was a breeze. The room was great. Staff at the front desk were exceptionally helpful, friendly, and professional. The waiters at the restaurant we went to were all great. The hotel shuttle bus to the cruise port was reasonable priced and extremely convenient. In sum, we loved everything about our stay and only wish that it was longer.

Everything was fine. There was nothing we did not like.
