Three words- DON’T SAY HERE. No. Four words. PLEASE DONT STAY HERE. Beyond the issues with the hotel itself… broken elevator - (there was only one working elevator our entire stay) gurgling toilets, one of our rooms had AC issues (and though promised was never addressed - for 2 nights) and they lied and said we’d get a discount - we got nothing) - they claim to be a five star- but they are not. And what makes all this frustrating is that the front desk claimed to have no power to do anything. Everything that happened was blamed on “the reservation office” or “the manager” who never seemed to be there. And there was no recourse for anything that happened. No one could be reached in person or by phone. There were a lot of “I’m sorrys” followed by nothing. Nothing was ever offered or suggested. I travel a lot - and this had to be one of the worst experiences ever. I’m used to going with the flow and letting things go, but something had to be said. This was just awful.
My family had a remarkable visit in Rome, and the Baglioni Regina was fantastic. We loved the location of the hotel, close to landmarks, shopping, great restaurants, and beautiful scenery. We stayed in a 2 Bedroom Family Suite, and it was very incredible! It had large rooms and bathrooms, and our children were quite comfortable and enjoyed the snacks in the mini bar. I was extremely impressed by the fact that we were brought a bottle of wine and dessert treats as a part of our stay. And, on the evening of a long (and hot!) tour, we received room service and were able to spend time together at the large dining room table in the suite. How special!
Most importantly, we also found the staff to be beyond helpful and accommodating. I cannot recall the name of the gentleman at the front desk, but he and I laughed together at check-in. Also, another gentleman made several trips to our room to find the correct key to open the connecting room to the children’s room. He was so pleasant and friendly. Each and every time we entered or exited the hotel, the front desk greeted us with kind, welcoming words. My only regret is that we only stayed 2 nights due to our itinerary. We will certainly want to come back for a longer stay.

If you stay in Rome, you might favor your moment of stay in accommodation to be authentically Italian.
Queen Margherita was among the hotel’s most illustrious guests, adding to its rich legacy of elegance and prestige.
During the stay I felt relaxed at home. Every staff of the hotel had heart warming attitude to communicate in a joyful Italian manner, and my room was in a refined modern design with a charming terrace.
One of the things that I was looking forward from the stay was pure Roman dining, which turned out to be convincing. It brought the quiet happiness that only an unforgettable meal can evoke.
Cafe Baglioni, one of the hotel's dining outlets, was utterly iconic and lavish, immediately feeling the hotel's history of prestege.
With its charming neighborhood and exceptional access to Rome’s iconic landmarks, it is a place I would happily return to as my base whenever I visit the Eternal City.
Great service, excellent location
There was only one elevator to use.
Nos sentimos muy cómodos y gratamente sorprendidos por la calidad de las instalaciones, la privilegiada ubicación del hotel y el magnífico desayuno,
Mejorar el aire acondicionado
We spent 4 days in Rome in the sweltering heat and the Baglioni was a welcome airconditioned respite to the weather. Its centrally located and walking distance to a number of attractions including the Trevi fountain, Villa Borghese and the Spanish Steps and easy bus/taxi service to other parts of Rome.
The rooms are European size but highly functional with high quality finishes throughout. The spa is small but highly functional with steam room/jacuzzi and sauna. Veronica from the spa team also was excellent.
The breakfast spread was very good. I recommend you go for the breakfast included option when booking.
We used the concierge extensively and they gave us a lot of good recommendations including concerts and a private tour. The only one we didn't use was the taxi service. The prepaid service from the hotel was more than adequate.
We should have reviewed the bad comments before booking. We booked Baglioni Hotel Regina through Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts after our flight schedule changed and we needed to extend our stay in Rome for one more night. We specifically chose a luxury property because we wanted a comfortable and relaxing place to rest before our flight back to New York. Unfortunately, this hotel was a huge disappointment and fell far below the standards expected from a 5-star property.
We have stayed at many luxury hotels around the world, including Park Hyatt, Marriott luxury properties, W Hotels, and Palazzo Manfredi in Rome. Compared with those experiences, Baglioni Hotel Regina does not come close to a true 5-star level. Personally, I would rate it no higher than a 3-star hotel.
The room itself was extremely outdated. The shower temperature constantly fluctuated between hot and cold every few seconds, making it impossible to enjoy a normal shower. Since we were only staying one night, we decided to tolerate it and move on.
The most disappointing experience, however, was our dinner at the hotel restaurant.
After a long day of traveling and sightseeing, we decided to dine in around 10 PM. We asked the restaurant staff if it was still possible to have dinner and whether they were closing soon. They welcomed us and assured us it was not too late. We ordered two drinks and three main courses.
Unfortunately, the restaurant environment was far from what we expected from a luxury hotel. The carpet and velvet chairs appeared worn and outdated, and there were numerous flies and mosquitoes around the dining area. One fly landed directly on my plate after I had already started eating, and another flew into my drink.
When I informed the waiter, there was no apology or concern. They simply removed the glass and replaced it with another one. I had to ask, “What about my drink?” Only then did they replace the beer bottle as well. The lack of basic courtesy and customer care was shocking.
The service continued to disappoint. They served our pizza first, and while we were still eating it, they brought the pasta. Without asking or checking with us, the waiter simply removed the pizza plate and took it back to the kitchen while we were still eating. This is unacceptable in any restaurant, especially one inside a luxury hotel.
The final issue was the bill. We noticed that the Chardonnay we ordered was listed as €17, while the wine menu showed it should have been €13. When I politely asked about the difference, the waiter responded by throwing the wine list onto the table and saying, “Check, it’s the price.” When I pointed out the exact wine I ordered, he raised his voice and said something like “It’s grape.”
Another older waiter eventually came over and said they would refund €2 due to a misunderstanding. The €2 was never the point. The issue was that I expected to be charged correctly and treated respectfully as a guest.
The experience ended on an equally disappointing note. The next morning when we checked out, we had two carry-on suitcases and two backpacks. As we exited the hotel and waited for our Uber, there were at least five hotel staff members standing nearby. Not one of them offered assistance with our luggage or even acknowledged us.
For a hotel charging 5-star prices, the service was far below expectations. The outdated rooms, poor restaurant experience, lack of attention to hygiene, and indifferent staff behavior made this one of the most disappointing luxury hotel stays we have ever had.
If you are looking for a true luxury experience in Rome, there are many better options available. Unfortunately, Baglioni Hotel Regina does not deliver the level of service, comfort, or hospitality that a 5-star hotel should provide.
Our experience was wonderful. We were originally staying at another hotel that just wasn’t up to par, so we felt incredibly fortunate to be able to book rooms at the Baglioni Hotel Regina.
From the moment we pulled up, we knew we had made the right choice. As soon as we walked in, the beautiful fragrance and elegant ambiance made us feel welcome. The hotel was impeccably clean, and every space felt elegant and well cared for. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully appointed. Even the water pressure in the bathroom was amazing—something that definitely doesn’t go unnoticed after traveling!
The location was perfect, making it easy to explore Rome while still enjoying a peaceful and quiet stay. Despite being in such a prime area, the hotel was wonderfully quiet, allowing for a great night’s sleep. Considering we booked last minute during one of the busiest travel seasons, we were also pleasantly surprised by the value—it exceeded our expectations.
The service was exceptional from start to finish. Every member of the staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious, and every meal exceeded our expectations.
We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend the Baglioni Hotel Regina to anyone visiting Rome. It truly turned our trip around and made our stay in Rome unforgettable.
AAA booked this hotel for my family and we couldn’t have been more pleased with this hotel! The location was in a quieter neighborhood but close enough to a Metro station and other restaurants/attractions (Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain) within easy walking distance. The service was superb from the front desk to housekeeping to the restaurant for the great buffet breakfast! Great place to stay in Rome!
Awesome experience. Booked through Costco. Olga at the front desk was the best at getting us checked in and settled. The rest of the staff was also very accommodating to help us feel welcome. The room was great. Location was close to a lot of amazing sights.
Excellent service and breakfast buffet every morning. Centrally located
An incredible hotel with amazing service, amazing food, and a perfect stay. Cannot recommend this hotel enough. If you’re looking to make your time in Rome truly memorable, there’s no better place than the Baglioni Regina. The location is truly amazing and the staff made the experience truly memorable
