For dyrt til standarden
Pros:

Tæt på Waverley Station

Cons:

Værelset var stort men ret nedslidt. Lidt vakkelvorne møbler. Der var meget larm fra gaden og fra et stort byggearbejde overfor, samt fra renovering af hotellets øvre etager. Badeværelse ok. Morgenmad ok.

Large rooms with a great location to Waverley Station.
Pros:

The location was great - super quick and easy from Waverley Station, new town shops and restaurants and easy access to the Royal Mile and old town. Rooms were quite large, easily accommodating 2 adults and luggage.

Cons:

There are stairs to access the front of the hotel but that was clearly mentioned when booking - it is an older hotel and that is part of the charm of The Old Waverley

Cute and well located hotel, but warm and noisy room
Pros:

Fantastic location with regards to public transport and walking to the old city. Plenty of shops, restaurants and groceries close by.

Classy old style and generally nice furnishings. The double bed was quite small, but there were plenty of fluffy pillows.

Very nice and effective staff.

Cons:

Sleeping was hard: it was very warm in the room (despite being 13 degrees outside) and the outside was so noisy that opening a window wasn't an option.

There was some construction nearby making this worse, but I could also hear everything happening in the hallway and other rooms. Some rooms might be facing a different direction and thus more quiet, but I think the location is generally loud. I was very grateful for my earplugs.

The heating wasn't on, but it felt like there was floor heating (due to the water leading to the shower I think) and the room was almost too warm to sleep in. In addition, the window faced a office building very close by, lit throughout the night - some sheer curtains would be nice, as you now have to choose between blocking all airflow with heavy curtains, or light+no privacy.

Helt grei frokost og super beliggenhet i sentrum.

Cons:

Sengen var helt elendig og gulvene knirker så mye at man våkner av at folk går i naborommet.
