A few frustrating issues during our stay. The parking is very tight, so be prepared for that. The WiFi dropped repeatedly every 8–10 minutes, making streaming impossible — I ended up switching to the Napier Council’s free public WiFi just to watch Netflix. Towels are limited to one person, though reception will provide extras on request.
After a morning out, I returned around lunchtime to find there was no hot water, not ideal when you’re looking forward to a shower. The biggest surprise came at checkout: I’d paid by Amex and was never informed of a credit card surcharge at the time of payment, only to be hit with an unexpected $20 fee on the way out. A heads-up at check-in would have been appreciated.
The fact that the room was not clean to standard, there was random hair in on and around the beds, there was a stain on my son's blanket, so he used the mink that was in the cupboard. The spa pieces in the bath were missing. The bed was uncomfortable. Not worth a $200 dollar bond but all in all somewhere to lay our heads.

Checking is was an absolute muck around taking a long time. Then Waking up to a homeless person at the bottom of our staircase when we went out in the morning and they were still there when we returned later.
Good location, easy parking, convenient for town and felt safe as a solo traveller.
Restaurant was a bit tired and run down but the food was actually really nice
It was very average the staff weren’t really approachable except the man was great .. the housekeeper was great knowing my baby needed a sleep.
The door was “sprained clean” but wasn’t wiped properly …
It never said the pool was cold, had to go ask to be unlocked twice since I was there.
The wifi didn’t work in my room at all it was very sporadic
And we had to walk up lots of stairs with 2 kids knowing I was by myself
I fell over cos where their cleaning Cupboard was there was a gap in the bumps and smacked my head and grazed my knee and hand
