I liked the price because it wasn't too expensive. The location is great for families staying near patients or staff working at the hospital next door (walking distance). The location is close in driving distance to a lot of restaurants, Irvine Spectrum shopping center and grocery stores. I appreciate that they had a kitchen to reheat food in the microwave or use utensils and plates. The staff is also super nice and accommodating for situations that arise or any feedback.
It was extremely dated and been through wear and tear. I also had to move rooms because I had an issue with bugs in my room. Avoid room 135 per by trails and was told that's why there's lots of bugs in the room. I kept seeing more bugs in the bed so they moved me to the second floor, which was cleaner and better but at that point, I still felt paranoid that bugs would be on me despite not seeing them in the second floor room. Also, the kitchens, the table sides were covered in stains in both rooms. I kept cleaning because I just didn't trust cleanliness. I couldn't think about comfort of the bed because I was too worried about bugs.
Staff was really excellent
Front desk manager did not honor my request to extend my stay and in fact said that they had cancelled my reservation and would not allow me to stay at the hotel - but billed me anyway- due to a customer complain that I had spoken firmly to her and falsely accused her.
What actually happened was that my teenage daughter was groped several times by the same woman in the hallway near the lobby while I was waiting to talk to the front desk rep and while I was talking to the front desk rep and my daughter was standing behind me. My daughter became very distressed and frightened and I turned to the woman and told her clearly and firmly to stop touching my daughter. The woman apparently complained to the manager stating that the incidents did not happen and that she was upset at being falsely accused. I was then denied the ability to extend my booking. I checked out but made a new reservation and returned at 4 but was again denied check-in due to “a message related from the manager to the front desk person that I was being denied service.
I do not lie or exaggerate incidents and I was also terribly upset, myself, at what had happened to a young teen girl by a woman who had continued to be in close proximity to us whenever we were in public areas in the hotel. I did not yell nor swear. I just firmly told the woman to stop grabbing my daughter while we were all in the hallway near the lobby ( very small area) as I was waiting to talk w the front desk rep about extending my reservation.
I did not and do not feel that I was treated cordially or with respect, but, instead blamed and falsely accused of lying and insulting another guest. It should be noted that there was no high drama. No one else was aware of the incident. I did not raise my bounce nor cause a scene in any way.
Did not know I had to pay for parking, did not see anything about that when I booked the room.
