Service is really rude
The staff, the room we received was not the room we booked!!
The rooms and location of this place were fine - it is central to a lot of things to do in Rhode Island. The rooms are fine as well and I do think the beds are comfortable overall. However, the service here was so terrible I felt the need to leave a review. I have never experienced such poor customer service for a hotel and at such a high price point. I called them from the very beginning requesting connecting rooms and they told me I could not do this until closer to the actual date, and it wasn’t guaranteed. I talked to them two more times closer to the date and finally on the day of, they informed me they did have connecting rooms but I would have to change my room types for a charge of $300 to make it happen, even though it was a downgrade, because it was happening the day of. No management was available to waive this fee or ever tried to get into contact with me. I ended up electing not to make the switch but it definitely felt like a money grab, especially with absolutely no communication from management. Hilton has options for connecting rooms and offered me much better customer service on other nights of my trip. If you have another option, definitely choose it instead.

I frequently stay at Marriott properties and this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. First, the hotel was incredibly noisy. The people in the room next to me were incredibly loud at night, making it impossible to sleep. Finally at 1am, I called the front desk to ask them to address the issue but nothing happened. Second, the hot water in the shower was not working. I had to take a basically cold shower on my first night. On the second day of my stay, I stopped by the front desk to tell them I had no hot water and they said they would have maintenance to take a look at it. However, when I took my next shower, there was again no hot water. I am not a particularly hard to please customer, but I do expect to be able to sleep peacefully and have a warm shower when I am paying hundreds of dollars a night for a room. For these reasons, I would not recommend this place to anyone and I will never stay here again.
This was my first time staying at this hotel. I must say, compared to some of the reviews I had a good experience here. I enjoyed the pool and hot tub a lot, good layout, extremely satisfied. Also checked out their fitness room which is decent compared to other hotels I have stayed at. I felt the breakfast was good and had plenty of options. I liked my room, I know some have complained of noise from the highway, but I blame construction season for that. For the most part it is quiet and lowkey and tucked off a side street. The air conditioner was very easy to use as well. I would definitely stay here again.
Everything was great!
AC in the hallways and elevators wasn't working. Room ACs were great!
Le professionalisme de l’etablissement qui a regle tres favorablement un litige.
Tres bon accueil a l’arrivee.

Food was excellent.. The rooms were nice.
First night the guest upstairs were up had kids jumping around til misnight.
The coffee tasted good, and breakfast was a nice touch.
There was a cockroach in my room. The place was worn, and no place to leave toiletries or a toothbrush in the bathroom. I knew there was no restaurant or bar, and also nothing walkable, so it's great they offered snacks for purchase, but they were hugely overpriced. They made a point of telling me the extra $20 charged on check-in would be returned when they found out I didn't trash it, and then proceeded to charge me another $20 as soon as I drove away.
The room was a great size. I liked having a microwave and refrigerator in the room. The fitness center was good. I used it every morning. It was nice having breakfast included. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful.
The bed was a little soft to our liking.
It needs to be remodeled. Old and “dingy”.
Me “it’s a Marriott how bad could it be?” Me 2 stars. My room was so dirty and gross I didn’t even want to take a shower it was that bad. The air smelled musty.
Nothing looked or felt fresh at all. Even breakfast… oatmeal was swimming in a pool of water. I’m a gold member and this is the worst marriott property I’ve stayed at to date. Into reason for 2 stars vs 1 is because I felt safe.
I almost never write a negative review, but this hotel thoroughly earned one. First of all, although the lobby is quite nice, the rooms are dark, the decor is horrible, and the carpets are dirty. The window shades are frayed. In our room, the dresser drawers didn’t even close properly. Whoever thought that choosing moody charcoal gray, institutional gray, and olive green as a decor scheme needs to get a design degree. The room was dark and depressing, and no one considered the fact that when you choose such a dark color scheme, you need to provide more lighting. We had to take the lampshade off the lamp to even read our books. The first room we had smelled like dog, even though the hotel is pet free. It’s not the hotel’s fault if people illegally bring their dogs in, but we had to change rooms because we both have dog allergies. The receptionist unenthusiastically allowed us to switch rooms. So we dragged all of our luggage over to the next room. Like the first room, it was dingy and reeked of cleaning chemicals. But in this room, the cleaning chemicals were so strong that we had to open the window because my husband started to have an asthma attack. Then, at about 7 o’clock that night, we lost power in our room. As didn’ta number of other rooms in the hallway. Nobody from the hotel ever communicated to us what was going on or when we could expect to get power back. We lost Wi-Fi too. We showered that morning in the dark because we never regained power. I curled my hair in the hallway, because there were outlets there that worked. It was an unpleasant experience to wake up first thing in the morning and get a bill for $300 to stay in a horrible hotel with no power. No one had even considered that perhaps we should be getting a discount for such a terrible experience. I asked the receptionist if I could speak to the hotel manager, but of course she was not there. I left a message for her asking for a discount, which was ignored. And now I find out that the only way you can leave a review on the Marriott website is if Marriott deigns to send you a guest satisfaction survey afterwards, which I have never received in all the times that we have stayed with Marriott. We love Marriott, but this hotel is a disgrace.
