Park Hyatt Melbourne

Came for my anniversary. Staff were amazing, attentive, and pleasant to interact with. The only criticism is some aspects of the hotel like our room (which was still fantastic) and the pool area, are just starting to look old with usual wear and tear. Both my partner and I will happily return, even just to come to the restaurant.

Our hotel of choice when in Melbourne, but we hadn't been back for a few years as I don't get to that city as often any more. It's grand entry foyer is an early indicator of the style of this grand hotel. Friendly and helpful staff; spacious rooms, very well appointed; a wonderful heated indoor pool, gym and spa; and in a quiet location at the eastern end of the city. We'll be back!

Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. Walk to everything. Staff are extremely helpful in particular housekeeping room service and valet. Highly recommend

I have stayed at Park Hyatt Melbourne for over 30 nights this year, which is why this experience was so disappointing.

I sent a wool dress to the hotel's laundry service and specifically requested dry cleaning. The care label on the dress also clearly states "dry clean only." Instead, the dress was washed and shrunk to what was essentially a child's size.

What was even more surprising was that the laundry team hung the severely shrunken dress back in my wardrobe as though nothing had happened. After I raised the issue, they attempted to restore the dress but were unsuccessful. Despite permanently damaging the garment, no compensation was offered.

Unfortunately, I also know of several colleagues who have experienced similar laundry issues at Park Hyatt Melbourne. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise against using the hotel's laundry service. It was handled unprofessionally from start to finish.

As someone who has traveled to more than 35 countries and stayed in well over 100 hotels, I can honestly say this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had.
I was so excited for Melbourne, and it is a shame the hotel overshadowed the whole trip. It started at check-in, when the front desk overcharged me by roughly double, with about $1,000 extra already pulled from my account. I flagged it immediately, and the receptionist just said “don’t worry, it will come back,” with zero concern. I tried again with another staff member who admitted they had overcharged me and promised to check with his manager, but no one ever followed up. The next day I had to chase down the manager myself. He was not particularly interested, though he did offer to reverse the charge. I asked for the difference in cash instead, since bank reversals take ages and they had drained my entire account, but he refused, with no real effort to make it right and not even a genuine apology.
I was the one who had to ask for compensation, and all I got was a credit amount.

And that was not even the worst of it.

The room they gave me had a broken toilet that would not flush, so every single time I used the bathroom I had to call the front desk to send someone up to flush it for me. The embarrassment was unreal, and they did nothing about it until I spelled out how absurd it was. It took until my very last night for them to finally offer to move me to another room.

All in all, an utterly failed experience, full of stress, leaving me without my money and topped off with the humiliation of worrying about whether I could even use the bathroom.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We travelled with a 7-month-old for a birthday, the staff went above and beyond to help where they could and also arranged a complementary birthday cake on our last day. Our flight was cancelled and we were moved onto a late flight, we were given a late check which was super helpful with a baby. the room was beautiful and well serviced. the hotel smelt divine. location was perfect, not central so quiet but super easy to get around, with tram stop right out the front.

excellent place at top of town , art deco , staff great , be sure to find the GM and his Labrador dog, Charlie. I have stayed years at Crown Casino , Langham etc but i will always come here now placed just at edge of CBD next door to St Patricks Cathedral and on the park precinct , short walk to MCG ! Way more quiet and relaxed than the other city 5 stars

A chance to feel well above the normal expectations. Pleasant surprises from the moment you arrive at the iconic entrance.

The rooms are fabulous with all needs met. The bed is very comfortable. The staff are friendly but professional. The breakfast was tasty and the evening meal in the bar area was good as well, the staff were friendly.
