Decent but rough.
Pros:

The overall room vibe and layout was nice, the sheets and pillows were overall pretty clean. The porch view was a nice addition, but the scenery wasn't anything to write home about. It was also pretty close to the major spots we wanted to visit.

Cons:

The cleanliness of the whole hotel could've definitely been better. They only changed sheets and towels every 3 days, which was ridiculous. You could also tell that they didn't thoroughly go through the different parts of the room as there were certain spots that weren't clean. For example, the shower soap holder was obviously not cleaned since there was old soap residue from whoever was there last. We also had a towel that had a hair on it. On our second day, we asked if they could do a room cleanup since we were planning on going out. Apparently the cleaners left early so they couldn't do it, but when we went back we saw the cleaning equipment outside our room in the hallway. So either they left and just didn't bother to move the dirty equipment, or they were still there and the front desk lady didn't know. For us, cleanliness is the most important thing, and unfortunately this stay didn't fully live up to our expectations.

Had to leave; too gross!
Cons:

We left early because the room was so unclean—stained sheets with hair all over the bed (not our hair!), AWFUL smell in hallways masked by chemical cleaner in room, and yet the lobby is newly renovated and sparkling clean…

When we checked in, the desk clerk was literally on the phone with someone else also wanting a refund because their room was gross. Devastated that we lost this money.

You get what you pay for.
Pros:

Work in progress. Construction also across the way. Time will tell on this hotel. For the price, I would stay again. You get what you pay for.

Cons:

Towels and wash cloths were subpar. A second bar of soap would have been nice. A coffee-making machine in the room would also be a good addition.

Comfortable beds, spacious rooms, close to everything in Mystic.
Pros:

Big rooms, convenient location, decently priced

Cons:

Towels were frayed and some mold in the bathroom- we did report this to the front desk and they were going to contact maintenance to address it (:

STAY AWAY
Pros:

This place is an absolute dump, stay far far away. We arrived to find the same odor and mold that other people have written about (to be fair, wish we had read that ahead of time and avoided this altogether). Pool was clearly not taken care of and our children broke out in a rash within 5 minutes of swimming, immediately got them out and tried to shower them to find the mold in the shower. Decided to suck it up and try to just get through the night but were disrupted by a loud and physical fight between the owner and the patron staying in the room nextdoor to us. Police were called and the fire alarm was pulled to evacuate the building while the police tried to get a handle on the situation (seemed like they're there frequently). We packed up our things and left because at this point it was apparent that this was an unsafe place to stay with our family. Had to drive door to door to find another hotel to take us in at 10:30 p.m. Long story short management has lied to us repeatedly and promised they'd issued us a refund and we're now reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. This place should be shut down immediately, they're thieves and should be held accountable.

TERRIBLE
Pros:

DO NOT STAY HERE.
This was basically a half way house and is not suitable for families. Hallways reeked of fish and weed and our kids got a rash from the pool. Manager got in a terrible physical altercation with the people staying in the room next to us and he called the woman a C*nt in front of my children. They ended up pulling the fire alarm and everyone had to evacuate. Needless to say, we packed up all our belongings that minute and found another hotel. Since we never ended up staying there, the front desk agreed to a full refund, which they assured me was processed. It has been almost 3 months and I've been trying to track this refund down. This shows you what kind of people they are! I will not give up trying to get my money back.
Just do yourself a favor and stay at the Best Western! That was a great, clean, hotel!

Get what you pay for...
Pros:

We stayed for one night on a trip to Mystic Aquarium. This is probably the closest, least expensive option in the area.
Mistick Village is walkable as are a selection of fast food. Hotel itself ... Meh. The room was fine although dated, mattresses were super soft. Bathroom was small with a Jacuzzi tub that was old and looked dirty, as were the fixtures. Parking was ample but the parking lot had a lot of potholes so proceed carefully. Our room was toward the middle of the hotel and had an outside access door that scarily was not locked, and definitely gave me hesitation. Next visit I will spend a little more money and stay elsewhere.

Clean and good location - not quality
Pros:

Clean, and the beds were comfortable. Pool was acceptable. Everything else was meh. The staff weren't especially helpful or even available, lots of superficial damage in the room and in the hallways, no hair dryer in the room (you could see where it had been ripped from the wall).

Worst place to stay, upcharged for the night, dirty, and unsafe
Pros:

The window lock was completely broken and the screen was broken - I was on the 1st floor and even with a driveway where cars were parked right outside - and the window was open when I came into the room, with the screen broken so it was open to the elements and anybody walking by. The curtains were also pulled slightly so you couldn't tell automatically that the window was open, and luckily I checked, otherwise you would have no idea it was open. I had to wedge something into the window sill and the edge of the window to make a lock so that somebody or a living critter couldn't come into the room at any point as I was on ground level.

There were holes and mold on the bathroom ceiling and mold in the shower as well.

The couch was completely stained and disgusting and was sunken in the middle and I would never sit on it because of how gross it was. The coffee table was also stained.

There was noise and slamming doors in the hallway all night.

The lobby was redone nicely and it would appear that they redid it to make it seem like your hotel room will be the same and this was absolutely the worst place I have stayed.

The average stay is about $60 a night usually which makes perfect sense based on how terrible the accommodations are - however, they completely upcharged for the night because of the Mystic Half Marathon event and I got charged $280 for the night because that is all that was available over 2 months in advance of the event. The fact that the company is okay with charging this much money for a night is absolutely disgusting and atrocious. Absolute joke of a place.

It was gross, dirty, moldy, unsafe, and an absolute rip off. It is a convenient location as the Old Mystic Village is across the street, but other than that it is an absolute terrible place.

Stay far far away from this place.

great City to explore excellent hotel to stay
Pros:

Great location convenient to local shopping the aquarium that is a must go see and several restaurants within walking distance there is mystique diner that is right next door to the hotel that you must stop by and experience the old diner style and great food and service this hotel has a large pool and fitness center good staff at the front desk the room has microwave and refrigerator and a large patio I recommend asking for the second floor so it's a little more private but there is no elevator.
