This place is an absolute dump, stay far far away. We arrived to find the same odor and mold that other people have written about (to be fair, wish we had read that ahead of time and avoided this altogether). Pool was clearly not taken care of and our children broke out in a rash within 5 minutes of swimming, immediately got them out and tried to shower them to find the mold in the shower. Decided to suck it up and try to just get through the night but were disrupted by a loud and physical fight between the owner and the patron staying in the room nextdoor to us. Police were called and the fire alarm was pulled to evacuate the building while the police tried to get a handle on the situation (seemed like they're there frequently). We packed up our things and left because at this point it was apparent that this was an unsafe place to stay with our family. Had to drive door to door to find another hotel to take us in at 10:30 p.m. Long story short management has lied to us repeatedly and promised they'd issued us a refund and we're now reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. This place should be shut down immediately, they're thieves and should be held accountable.
DO NOT STAY HERE.
This was basically a half way house and is not suitable for families. Hallways reeked of fish and weed and our kids got a rash from the pool. Manager got in a terrible physical altercation with the people staying in the room next to us and he called the woman a C*nt in front of my children. They ended up pulling the fire alarm and everyone had to evacuate. Needless to say, we packed up all our belongings that minute and found another hotel. Since we never ended up staying there, the front desk agreed to a full refund, which they assured me was processed. It has been almost 3 months and I've been trying to track this refund down. This shows you what kind of people they are! I will not give up trying to get my money back.
Just do yourself a favor and stay at the Best Western! That was a great, clean, hotel!
We stayed for one night on a trip to Mystic Aquarium. This is probably the closest, least expensive option in the area.
Mistick Village is walkable as are a selection of fast food. Hotel itself ... Meh. The room was fine although dated, mattresses were super soft. Bathroom was small with a Jacuzzi tub that was old and looked dirty, as were the fixtures. Parking was ample but the parking lot had a lot of potholes so proceed carefully. Our room was toward the middle of the hotel and had an outside access door that scarily was not locked, and definitely gave me hesitation. Next visit I will spend a little more money and stay elsewhere.
Clean, and the beds were comfortable. Pool was acceptable. Everything else was meh. The staff weren't especially helpful or even available, lots of superficial damage in the room and in the hallways, no hair dryer in the room (you could see where it had been ripped from the wall).
The window lock was completely broken and the screen was broken - I was on the 1st floor and even with a driveway where cars were parked right outside - and the window was open when I came into the room, with the screen broken so it was open to the elements and anybody walking by. The curtains were also pulled slightly so you couldn't tell automatically that the window was open, and luckily I checked, otherwise you would have no idea it was open. I had to wedge something into the window sill and the edge of the window to make a lock so that somebody or a living critter couldn't come into the room at any point as I was on ground level.
There were holes and mold on the bathroom ceiling and mold in the shower as well.
The couch was completely stained and disgusting and was sunken in the middle and I would never sit on it because of how gross it was. The coffee table was also stained.
There was noise and slamming doors in the hallway all night.
The lobby was redone nicely and it would appear that they redid it to make it seem like your hotel room will be the same and this was absolutely the worst place I have stayed.
The average stay is about $60 a night usually which makes perfect sense based on how terrible the accommodations are - however, they completely upcharged for the night because of the Mystic Half Marathon event and I got charged $280 for the night because that is all that was available over 2 months in advance of the event. The fact that the company is okay with charging this much money for a night is absolutely disgusting and atrocious. Absolute joke of a place.
It was gross, dirty, moldy, unsafe, and an absolute rip off. It is a convenient location as the Old Mystic Village is across the street, but other than that it is an absolute terrible place.
Stay far far away from this place.
Great location convenient to local shopping the aquarium that is a must go see and several restaurants within walking distance there is mystique diner that is right next door to the hotel that you must stop by and experience the old diner style and great food and service this hotel has a large pool and fitness center good staff at the front desk the room has microwave and refrigerator and a large patio I recommend asking for the second floor so it's a little more private but there is no elevator.
The location was convenient to the highway and multiple attractions.
The 1st room we were in was very dark and window did not allow any light in. The bathroom needs a total remodel. Fear factor for me getting off the toilet. The staff moved me to a much better room after their were check outs. Great place to stay other than that.
nothing
overall condition and cleanliness
Bastante bien, tenía parking gratis y eso fue lo que buscábamos
Nada
Staff was so nice.
Although its getting a face-lift things were still a little dingy.
I don't think they changed the sheets on 1 of the beds from the guests before.
We don’t travel often but wanted to basically go to the aquarium and swim in a pool a bunch and we did get to do those things!
More towels available at the pool would have been nice. There was trash (beer bottle and joint wrapper) left on our balcony and we have kids so that was fun so definitely could’ve been cleaned better.
Was cheap and cheerful. Staff were helpful
Had a bad smell in the corridors and in the room which wasn’t great.
There wasn't much to like about the hotel itself. It was a good location for what we wanted to do in the town. Other than that, it wasnt good.
What did we like is a shorter question. Bed was hard. We had queen sheets on a king bed. Balcony door was broken and didnt shut properly. Ice machine on the floor was out of service. Our bathroom was decent, but we found hair from previous stay.
The diner
20 minutes from the casino.
Initially had booked two nights due to dance competition at the casino. Cancel one night after receiving the schedule. Price of the Hotel was 30 less than what my initial cost was for the two nights.
