The staff who checked us in was very friendly and gave some excellent restaurant recommendations, and the staff who checked us out were also friendly and gave some very excellent advice. They were amazing!
It is located right at the end of Botchergate, which is closed to traffic on Friday and Saturday nights, there was noise of pubs and bars, music and singing. It wasn't too intrusive for me but my spouse found it disturbing, especially the drunken row outside the window at 2:00am.
The building is absolutely fantastic and very clean
As the building was so old you could hear the above room when they move due to realy old floor boards you could hear every move from the person above
Did not have breakfast. Hotel in Perfect location. I have stayed in this hotel before and I think it was a good priced I paid for it.
Only thing I didnt like was the Pillows are very soft and not to my liking.
Centrally located and two min walk from the train station.Great buffet breakfast which we loved as prefer to help ourselves to what we like and there was a great selection to choose from
Rooms were very warm but fans are provided it’s just i can’t sleep with a fan on but that wouldn’t stop me staying again
Perfect location and excellent value for an upgraded room. Room 222 was large, bright, quiet, and offered lovely views. However, ventilation was tricky because the original windows were jammed shut behind the double-glazing. The provided fan wasn't quite enough for the summer heat, though it would likely be very cosy in the winter.
The paid parking area at the back is a great asset, but it needs better organisation. Drawing clear parking lines and putting up clear signage that this is the County Hotel car park would make it much easier for guests.
Location
The staff were friendly and helpful
I had to complain re noise from above and this was dealt with immediate
The bedroom was very drab and basic
