Front desk Mehmet learned that I really liked the previous room, so he arranged the same room for me. The hotel room was clean and I loved the design style. The staff were warm and polite. I hope to stay again next time.

Good quality hotel
Pros:

In many hotels, if you arrive before check-in time, they will look to see if a room is available. At this hotel, it is not possible to check in before 3pm. We arrived around noon, changed in the spa changing room and the concierge stored our bags. The rooms were good quality, with food facilities and plenty of storage. We had a castle view room which provided an excellent view of the castle, particularly when it was lit up at night. Despite being told that the hotel was full when we asked for an early check-in, it seemed very quiet. There was one English speaking concierge that was very helpful with guidance on how to travel around the city and ordering taxis. Breakfast was not included in our rat. As there were hardly any obvious cafes/restaurants nearby, we paid for breakfast in the restaurant. It was very good, with plenty of hot and cold food and drinks and omelettes cooked to order. The hotel is more in the business district than the main tourist district but it a short walk from a subway station.

夕食ANA頂きました。とても美味しかった。
お部屋のスリッパが他のホテルより良い
シャンプーリンスボディソープが良い。
スタッフはシーズンオフでしたので少なかったがとても感じが良かった

Cons:

お部屋が二条城が見えるところではなかったので残念でした。

Pros:

Lovely friendly staff. Very comfortable room, clean and in a perfect location, a few minutes walk from the Nijo Castle. The hotel also has a free shuttle from the Kyoto station to the hotel.

Cons:

Room furnitures were not super new, but the room was very clean and well-maintained. No issues whatsoever

Fantastisk ophold, kunne godt komme der igen.
Pros:

Stor og flot morgenmadsbuffe, rigtig god service fra personalen, venlig modtagelse receptionen. Vi spiste på restauranten, en helt fantastisk oplevelse, rigtig god mad. Kunne sagtens komme der igen.

Cons:

Der mangler en brødrister, der er en mikrobølgeovn, men brødet bliver blød og dampet.

Blizina Nijo dvorca. Dobra početna lokacija za druge atrakcije. Miran i siguran kraj.

Cons:

Loš Internet-wi fi. Prosečan doručak. Stare sobe sa starim nameštajem. Dislokacija od gradskog centra. Nema puno restorana i prodavnica u blizini.

Pros:

Mycket bra frukost. Mycket att välja på.

Cons:

Baren stängde redan 22.00 och man fick inte sitta kvar längre i fåtöljerna. Fanns ingen annanstans att sitta och prata eller spela kort.

Convenient holiday stay for sightseeing Kyoto.
Pros:

Great location right across from Nijo Caste; paid (a lot) extra for castle view room which was a little disappointing as it was a limited view partially obstructed by the lower floors of hotel.

Cons:

Despite advertised numerous in house restaurants, they required booking ahead and very limited opening hours. Chose this hotel based on several earlier visits many years ago, but decor becoming very dated although still functional bathrooms etc.

Book the renovated rooms if you value a good night’s sleep.
Pros:

The king-sized bed in my room desperately needed to be replaced. I asked staff if I could have a different room with a newer or firmer mattress; one where I couldn’t feel the bed springs. They were super accommodating and got me moved to a renovated room with a new bed and mattress that was much more comfortable.

That being said, try to request a renovated room if at all possible when booking.
