Ideal Santa Monica location
Pros:

Great location close to everything that Santa Monica offers. We found the environment was completely safe to walk around in da and night.
We didn't eat there, but we did spend a bit of time in the bar and found the staff to be really helpful and friendly. The pool area was a pretty nice place to spend some chillout time.

Great home base in Santa Monica
Pros:

We had a great time at the Hyatt Centric. It was very convenient to the beach and the pier, and a great jumping off point for other activities in the LA area. The hotel lobby and pool area are very pretty, and we had a lot of fun in the game room (they have shuffleboard and a pool table). I appreciated the bikes and beach towels available to borrow. Our partial ocean view room was very nice and clean, and the beds were comfortable. Housekeeping service was good. Staff were very friendly—I especially liked a few of the parking valet guys! (Although I didn't like the steep parking rates). My only complaint was that our room was not ready at check in time (we had to wait over an hour) and breakfast was quite slow. The complimentary coffee was nice in the morning, but I'd recommend getting breakfast down at Urth Caffé on Main Street!

Good luxury value in Santa Monica.
Pros:

I liked the convenience within the hotel and the large balcony with an awesome ocean view. The restaurant had good food and the pool area was very nice and clean. The bathroom was bright and remodeled. The amenities were sufficient. TV channels were the ones I like and easy to navigate. Checkout was fast and easy.

Cons:

The bed was too soft but not terrible. I had to request a coffee maker but it came quickly and worked well. I requested more towels and the hotel maid was happy to bring them quickly.
