I'd stay here again just to be a block from the action.
Pros:

Staff was super friendly and helpful, and the location was just perfect. Building was old but kept up. Bathroom was nice and amenities were spot on.

Cons:

The bar was slow; I gave up and left. The hotel was hard to find - our Lyft driver dropped us somewhere in the vicinity then we walked the wrong way.

Super handy location!
Pros:

Location is 2nd to none being so near Grant Park but especially being less than a block from L station for ALL lines. Buy a Ventra card and get unlimited ride pass for everyone in your group and you'll get everywhere quickly and never have to take an Uber.

Cons:

Rooms/bathrooms could use an update. But the price is about right for what it is.

Great Experience at the Silversmith
Pros:

Took my son to Chicago to celebrate his Highschool graduation. We booked four nights at the Silversmith hotel. When we arrived, we were greeted with the most warm and respectful desk staff. Check in was a breeze and the desk was able to provide numerous suggestions for things to do and places to eat. She even gave me vouchers to enjoy a few cocktails at the bar.

The location was as excellent, steps away from Millennium Park and walking distance (for us) to attractions like the Field Museum, Shed Aquarium, the Magnificent Mile and Navy Pier. The rooms were spacious and clean.

The hotel was also steps away from the Brown, Purple and Orange lines and the Red Line was a block away. The Blue line was only a few blocks away which made for a convenient trip to and from O'Hare.

All in all, we had a great stay at the Silversmith Hotel. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay with a friendly staff.

Rush Concert
Pros:

We were there for a concert. The location was great. Beverly at the front desk was extraordinary. She helped us with coordinating transportation to and from and was very helpful coaching us smaller town folks around the city. Even the security guy was super friendly when we returned late at night.

Great employees
Pros:

The hotels biggest strength is it's employees. Enrique's genuine smile when you entered the building, Lucia's warmth and caring at the front desk, and George's service and "burst of sunshine at breakfast. Thanks to all! And I understand the Silversmith will be under new owners on the fal. PLEASE keep people like this!!! They are your strength. :)

Just book it, and ask for Enrique!
Pros:

We had the pleasure of staying a night here when our initial hotel didn’t have the final night of our stay available. They were really accommodating in the transition between hotels, as well as the transition between check out here and heading home (writing this from a cozy couch booth in the lobby)!

Shout out to Enrique was really kind and helpful. He handled all our luggage with care, made us feel comfortable and welcome in the common spaces even after checking out. You can tell when people enjoy what they’re doing and the service here reflects that. The staff recognizing and building rapport with the guests really brings a homey feel away from home! I would highly recommend checking in at the silversmith hotel :)

Plan to Return, Plan to Stay Again
Pros:

First time really experiencing Chicago (previous time in December and for work) so was very ready! Had a full itinerary and yet Ms. Beverly was gracious enough to provide her recommended favs, which did not disappoint. Speaking of Ms. Beverly, an absolute gem to have on staff but especially at the front desk. Knowledgeable, friendly, joyous, and just a pleasure to work with. Had a funny exchange with Victoria upon checking out late, and you could just feel the beautiful energy. Will be back and will DEF stay here again!!!
