Union Station Turned Hotel.
Pros:

The hotel is very interesting as it was a former train station. They do have train carts on the second floor which you can book during your stay. Which is pretty cool. They have an awesome restaurant. If you need an amazing server ask for Kay. She was amazing. The hotel is very busy as it connects to the convention center. What I loved was that they have a bridge that connects to the convention center so no need to go outside and walk in bad weather if you need to go there.

The biggest issue that this hotel has is that it needs a renovation. The rooms are worn out and the overall hotel could use a facelift.

That being said, it is still a good option to stay at and I would reccommend this hotel to others.

Also, their meeting spaces are super cool. They do have a ballroom which used to be the entrance to the old station.

This hotel saved us!!
Pros:

Crowne Plaza Union Station in Indianapolis saved us. We had never been to Indianapolis so we blindly reserved a different hotel between Indianapolis and Bloomington. It was a big mistake. Without getting into too many details, this other hotel was not what it said it was online. To be frank, the conditions were deplorable. As soon as we got there we left. after a 10 1/2 hour drive from New York City, this is not what we expected to do. thanks to Priceline and Crown Plaza, Indianapolis Union Station, we booked a room for two nights immediately for only $24 more than what I had spent on this “other hotel“.
It’s the oldest train station in America and they actually have four trains that they converted into rooms which was very cool. It was spotless, the rooms were comfortable clean, and the beds were amazing. But most importantly, we felt safe. Even though they’re doing a bunch of construction outside the hotel, you couldn’t hear anything inside. It’s worth four times the price, but I’ll take it for the price we paid. The staff is very nice and accommodating, especially one of the managers, Charmaine. I would highly recommend staying there if you’re planning on visiting Indianapolis or even Bloomington, Indiana. It’s only 45 minutes away.

It was fun to walk around and see the history!
Pros:

The history and the staff. Everything was great!

Cons:

Well the construction but that’s out of their hands. They did the best to help prepare for the drive. It was easy once I read what to do from the messages.

You get your money’s worth staying at the Crowne Plaza
Pros:

The Crowne Plaza is an absolutely beautiful historic hotel! Me & my daughter were in town for a concert, so just a 24hr trip. We got the opportunity to stay in one of the lovely train carts and the best part was that we were able to explore this historic hotel, free will! And the venture around the plaza did not disappoint, so much history. The staff were amazing! Crystal the front desk receptionist was very welcoming and helpful as well as the gentleman who were bartending at the time were so nice and great conversation. I will be back for sure!

Cons:

I did not like the construction all around the hotel and it’s not their fault of course. But because of the construction we had no choice but to to do valet service, which was $50 a night a bit expensive considering the inconvenience.

Pros:

Beds were comfortable
Train car rooms were very cool to stay in
Front desk people were helpful

Cons:

The hotel presents itself as a luxury property, but in my experience, it did not live up to that expectation. Its biggest advantage is that it is connected to the convention center, but that alone did not make up for the other issues I encountered.
One of my biggest concerns was the number of homeless individuals, some of whom appeared to be experiencing mental health issues, around the hotel. Several would approach or follow guests, and others would come into the hotel and sleep in the lounge area. This made the environment feel less comfortable than I expected.
The room itself was also disappointing. There was a noticeable amount of thick dust, especially around and on the air vents, which made the room feel like it had not been thoroughly cleaned.
Another inconvenience was the lack of a microwave in the room. The hotel only had one microwave, located on the first floor in the market area, and there was almost always a line of people waiting to use it.
The breakfast was especially underwhelming. Considering it was a paid breakfast, the selection was extremely limited. I've honestly had complimentary breakfasts at other hotels that offered a much wider variety of food.
Checkout was also a frustrating experience. There was only one employee working the front desk, resulting in a long line and an unnecessarily lengthy wait.
My biggest complaint, however, is the parking. For the price of staying at this hotel, I expected complimentary parking, but there was none. While I understand the hotel cannot control the construction happening around the property, the directions they provided were not helpful. Guests were simply told to use Google Maps and that it would account for the construction, which it did not. On top of that, the hotel's parking fees were excessive. Overall, for the amount charged to stay here, I expected far more in terms of amenities and overall value.
