Room was large (for London) and had natural light plus air conditioning. A good shower. Nespresso Machine a bit bonus. Really charming hotel, nicely decorated. Gloucester Rd Tube right there and easy walk to a number of the main museums and parks.
Had the machine but coffee pods were not delivered daily.

The room was far from the elevator with stairs, making it difficult to handle our own luggage, but the porters were most helpful.
Die junge Dame an der Rezeption hat mir auf meine Bitte hin ein Zimmer mit Ausblick gegeben. Sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich.
Sehr schönes Hotel im viktorianischen Stil. Die Lage ist optimal. Wir hatten Karten für ein Konzert in der Royal Albert Hall, die fußläufig in ca. 15 Minuten erreichbar war. Die Umgebung des Hotels ist sehr schön, es gibt nette kleine Restaurants in der Nähe und die Tube (Gloucester Road) ist direkt vor der Tür. Mein kleines, schönes und ruhiges Zimmer lag in der 5. Etage zu einem Hinterhof mit einem sehr bequemen Bett, wirklich "cosy". Vielleicht muss erwähnt sein, dass sich, wie wahrscheinlich im ganzen Hotel, die Fenster nicht öffnen lassen, dafür gab es eine Klimaanlage. Das Frühstück (Buffet - kalt und warm) war für mich in Ordnung und in Teigist hatten wir eine wirklich absolut freundliche und umsichtige Servicekraft - nochmals vielen Dank, Teigist! Beim Check-In hat Daria wirklich einen freundlichen und kompetenten Job gemacht und nicht zu vergessen ist der sehr nette junge doorman, dessen Namen ich leider vergessen habe. Wir hatten wirklich ein super schönes Wochenende!
Wir bekamen über die booking-App die Nachricht, dass wir etwas kostenpflichtig dazubuchen können, nämlich einen Early-Check-In. Das hat für mich gepasst, aber nachdem ich dem link gefolgt bin und die Buchung vermeintlich getätigt habe, bin ich im Nirvana gelandet. Ich habe zweimal beim Hotel nachgefragt und bekam wesentlich später die Antwort, dass das erst bei Anreise zugesagt werden könne. Warum bekomme ich dann so ein Angebot und im Anschluss weder eine Zusage noch eine Antwort. Wie gesagt: Daria konnte das beim Check-In klären (es hat dann doch geklappt) und charmant "glattbügeln".

One of the smallest single rooms I have ever had. Said it was a classic single- not sure what was classic. If you’re on the heavier side you’ll have problems getting in and out of the shower & loo. No shelf in the bathroom had to put things on the floor

The bar has a friendly safe atmosphere. I felt very safe at the hotel. Taxi rank, station and shops and restaurants at the front door.
The aircon didn’t work. In a heatwave this made the evenings difficult.
Very comfortable, quiet room in a great location. Very friendly and responsive staff who clearly worked hard to meet the needs of their guests (hotel and restaurant). Steps away from the underground, variety of food, a market, and Boots all in the neighborhood so convenience.
I made the mistake of visiting during a major heatwave so, try as it might, the room AC could not keep up with it. Beyond the hotel's control, but it would be worth upgrading the system. I was also surprised that there wasn't a business center (thankfully, my smartphone got me through the week).
