1 August 2026. We chose to celebrate our birthday family lunch at FoodCapital buffet restaurant.

We are regular customers because the quality of food & service at this restaurant is a big draw for us.

The Resturant continues to have scrumptious, delicious & fresh selections of food at the buffet.

Ms Sally is always so helpful, attentive & warm with her service.

As it was a party of 20 people, she arranged for the complimentary birthday cake with candles to be presented at separate long table, so that her colleague, Ms Susan could take a good group photo to commentate the gathering.

8 complimentary copies of the photo were printed for the 8 families present.

They checked on us constantly to make sure our dinning needs are well taken care of.

The environment near the hotel is beautiful and comfortable. I stayed here for two weeks. There are quite a lot of breakfast choices. There are some Japanese cuisine, Indian food, Singaporean local cuisine and so on to choose from. It is very pleasant to walk along the river behind the hotel after breakfast every morning. The room service is also good. LiGe, who serves us, is doing her best to clean the room every day.

We had a wonderful dining experience. The food was delicious, the environment was comfortable, and all the staff were friendly. A special thank you to Khatijah for being so warm and friendly, and for surprising my wife with a birthday cake. We truly enjoyed our time here and will definitely visit again!

Staff attitude is extremely poor and friendliness non existent especially when you are travelling with a child. We took an early check in but without checking staff refused first and then after we argued they said we have found it.

By far the worst service I've experienced in years. The front desk completely fumbled our IDs for four rooms, making us wait 40 minutes while our four kids just stood there. Not a single apology or explanation for their mistake, and they couldn't even be bothered to tell us the breakfast details. I honestly don't know if the staff had an attitude because of where we're from or our skin color, but the whole vibe felt incredibly biased and left us feeling completely unwelcome. A solid 1-star for terrible service

Fantastic hotel in Singapore. A short walk from Havelock MRT and bus stop which brings you straight into Singapore and La Pau Hawker centre. Staff are very helpful and efficient. Rooms are clean, spacious and beds very comfortable. Concierge staff so helpful especially Demeal, Jahseh and Balan. Perfect hotel to base yourself as you explore Singapore. Gorgeous breakfast with plenty of variety and options. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely stay at the Grand Copthorne. Nice large room with filtered water tap, good location at the river side and very friendly service from the front desk staff - especially congierges Muz and Afendi and Shirley at the front desk.

It was a very good stay experience. The breakfast was sumptuous and the hotel view was great. As it was a family trip with three people staying together, thank Shirley also helped arrange a room with a sofa bed.

I’ve visited Food Capital many times over the years, and it continues to be one of my favourite hotel buffets. The food is consistently good, with a wide variety of dishes that cater to different tastes. What keeps me coming back is how the restaurant regularly introduces exciting festive and international themes, such as the Sakura buffet and the Thailand Feast, making every visit feel like a new experience.

The service is always warm, attentive, and professional. The staff are friendly and make guests feel welcomed throughout the meal.

A special mention goes to the thoughtful birthday celebration. The team surprised us with a delicious birthday cake and even presented us with a printed photo as a keepsake. It was such a lovely personal touch that made the occasion even more memorable.

Overall, Food Capital never disappoints with its excellent food, great service, and attention to detail. It’s a wonderful place for celebrations or simply to enjoy a quality buffet, and I look forward to returning again.

Superb customerservice from Cleon who went out of his way to make me and my family welcome but also helped us with room situation.

Great location. Liked it most as its just 5 minutes to Clarke quay where can have a morning or evening run and have great food & drinks as a couple, friends or family (even little ones).

The hotel also has padel courts, gym 24 hrs and a swimming pool that goes upto 9pm. Nice way to relax after going round town before heading out to Clarkey to close the day.

Staff were very helpful and the inroom AI assistance was the first I ever experienced.

The Sunday brunch buffet spread was fantastic as usual. We loved the staff efficiency & dedication. Love the guitarist!! Special call out to Khatijah for her friendly service with a smile. Thanks for arranging a seat closer to the buffet line for my aunty on a wheelchair 💕

Regarding the rooms, altough we were told that the familiar one will host a double coach + a king size bed it only has the XL bed + the individual coach so we had to split between this room and my mom’s one in order to fit in the beds properly. Since I booked a room for 4 people months ago, and I double checked vía mail with the customer service that the coach was double to fit my sons on it for sleep, I consider this a big mistake.

We were taken care off by Khatijah Sally. Great attitude and engaging personality.
