Good location for the airport. Staff were great, nothing ‘Wow’ about it but no complaints at all

Mixed Feelings
Pros:

The hotel's location near the airport is excellent. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes and takes maybe 15 minutes (according to traffic) to get to the airport. The room was clean.

Cons:

We stayed at two La Quinta Inns on our trip. We could not help but compare this Inn to the other La Quinta that had recently been renovated. Two issues stand out with this La Quinta. The door handles had to be pushed upwards instead of down and unless you held your tongue right, still wouldn't open easily. The second was the "smart" thermostat!!!! I had to Google the thermostat to find out what the heck it was doing. It isn't as simple as selecting the mode, the temperature you want and the fan speed. NO, it has a motion detector! It's supposed to learn when guests are asleep!?!? We were up on the top floor so maybe our thermostat hadn't learnt yet or maybe had a learning disability!!! Our temperature would almost get right and it would shut off. If the hotel wanted to control how the climate control units were being used, with guests in the room or out of the room, there are much less crazy ways of doing it. In Mexico, they only issue one room key...the key has to be inserted in the thermostat for it to work. Works.

Cons:

No USB plug in locations in room., the review doesn't seem to finish because I expressed a concern., I came in from overseas and didn't have an American charger available. Most hotels have USB ports on the lighting now days. This hotel did not.
