Location and staff were excellent. The apartments were well equiped, clean and comfortable. The location was perfect lovely views and walking distance to restaurants, beach & shops.
The property would be amazing with some minor renovations and maintenance to upgrade the pool (I do believe this is in the process).
Breakfast and location
Water damage on walls and ceiling
The Peninsula Boutique Hotel of Port Douglas can be highly recommended.
It’s very close to the beach (with pretty rough ocean waves however for which the Peninsula cannot, obviously, be held responsible). The reception very friendly fluent in English and Spanish.
Port Douglas became one of our favorite places so also the Peninsula Boutique Hotel.
Breakfast with ocean view, wow!
The attractions offered in this location (suggested by Laurel of Inside Australia Travel) simply amazing with Daintree and Koalas on top.
We would return there any time….

Great location, friendly staff. Loved the welcome juice on arrival, dehumidifier in room so no musty mouldy smells. Great pool and spa area for relaxing
A bit expensive
Pros: Excellent location, right on the beach. Friendly helpful staff. Our room was clean. Comfy bed, we slept well, chilled out and enjoyed the breakfasts. Free use of washing machines and tumble dryers.
Cons: This is not a luxury hotel and if your are expecting 5 star opulence and service, it's not for you. The place is a bit shabby, the public areas could be cleaner, a soggy wet corridor carpet due to leaking ice machine, a lot of mouldy tile grout in the pool and no reception staff after 6pm.
Loved Port Douglas and would go there again. Would we stay at the Peninsula? Probably not.
Great location facing beach.
Limited and stingy breakfast....
Beautiful quiet relaxing stay.

Location, great rooms and outside space, excellent breakfast
Reception shut very early
The hotel has a great location on the beach and close to shops and restaurants.
Breakfast is included and served in a nice cosy little restaurant facing the ocean.
It didn’t quite deliver the boutique experience we expected. The interiors felt dated, you see a lot of rust on various surfaces, paint wearing off at places and housekeeping was inconsistent, with very limited attention to detail. These factors made the experience feel more ordinary than boutique.
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in February and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Location right next to beach was excellent and within an easy walk into town with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed on a B&B basis and our room was very comfortable and breakfasts were superb.
I booked an executive room in the hotel. Other friends were joining us from other parts of the country and also booked here to join us for a significant birthday event. It was important the we had a larger room. I booked several months previously and had reason to call about other arrangements and was assured the room I booked was the larger room. When we arrived today we discovered that we were not in fact in a larger room and I was told that we had been upgraded because there was a problem with the air-conditioning in the room I booked.
I told the manger that this in fact was not an upgrade and that I should have been given notice if there was a problem to enable me to make alternative plans. She kept telling me that this was an upgrade as if I should be grateful.
I would not recommend this hotel. It is showing signs of aging, tired and if this is one of the larger room, a standard room must be pokey.
I have not been offered any compensation for the inconvenience dispite my very clear protests about this change to my booking.
Poor customer service.
