The Lancaster Hotel

Wir hatten zwei Zimmer gebucht, eines war sehr geräumig, eines ganz klein und eng. Mehr Haken wären hilfreich! Schade, dass es für Zimmer 105 nicht die Möglichkeit gibt, wenigstens einen Spalt das schöne hohe Fenster zu öffnen. Gelüftet wird nur über die Klimaanlage, das empfanden wir als sehr unangenehm. Roomservice war merkwürdig: am 2. Tag wurde in einem Zimmer sauber gemacht, im anderen nicht. Auf meine Nachfrage wurde mir erklärt, wir hätten das Türschild (nicht gefunden!) aufhängen müssen. Das erklärt aber immer noch nicht, warum ein Zimmer aufgeräumt worden ist, das andere aber nicht.

Rooms could do with some touch ups, there were a lot of doors which made it awkward to move around in the room and the bathroom didn't have a working fan so it was very warm in there all the time, we had to keep the door open. There was a safety light on right above the bed which made it difficult to sleep but the staff were able to cover it for us. Just little things but I would stay here again when I visit.

We were given a basement room, the room was downstairs, we walked into the room and the odour that was seeping from the bathroom into the room was disgusting. The carpet had stains on it the paint was peeling off the windowsills, the bedside tables and dust was everywhere. The room did not look like what we had seen online in our opinion and definitely did not meet the standard that was advertised. The bed had stains on it also a dead fly was found by my partner on the bed. It was absolutely awful. We had to book alternative accommodation late that night and go to a different hotel as we did not feel comfortable staying there. I filed a complaint with the hotel and to no satisfaction they refuse to refund or compensation for the stay, even though we didn’t stay there for either night. i would not recommend this hotel and would definitely not be returning.

Breakfast was lacking.
Room was fine but there was a little bit of rust in the bathtub and the beds weren't comfy.

Il y a cependant quelques petites choses qui, selon moi, mériteraient d’être revues.

Tout d’abord, la brosse des toilettes mériterait vraiment d’être changée ou modernisée. C’est un petit détail, mais cela donne une impression moins agréable alors que, par ailleurs, la chambre était très propre.

Le point le plus problématique pour nous a été la lumière verte située au plafond. Elle éclairait une grande partie de la chambre et était vraiment très lumineuse pendant la nuit, au point de rendre le sommeil très difficile. Je vous avais d’ailleurs contactés à ce sujet dès notre arrivée. Je tiens toutefois à souligner que le personnel a été très réactif : dès le deuxième jour, le nécessaire a été fait afin de réduire cette gêne et nous avons ensuite pu dormir correctement. Je vous en remercie.

Enfin, j’avais demandé avant notre arrivée si les fenêtres pouvaient s’ouvrir. Malheureusement, elles ne s’ouvraient que d’environ 10 cm. Je comprends bien les contraintes liées à la sécurité, mais il serait peut-être intéressant de le préciser plus clairement dans les informations concernant les chambres, car cela peut être important pour certains voyageurs.

Dans l’ensemble, nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans votre hôtel et nous avons particulièrement apprécié son charme, son emplacement et surtout la gentillesse du personnel. Mes remarques sont donc davantage des suggestions d’amélioration que de véritables reproches.

Not clean. We had to ask for the cleaner to come as the bedroom was dusty and the bathroom was not clean.
