The hotel had a pleasant ambience, clean surroundings, and was well maintained. The breakfast was decent too
The hotel, surroundings, ambience, and breakfast were good. However, I was disappointed with the service.
When I enquired about the airport pick-up before my arrival, the staff member spoke to me very rudely. I never expected this kind of behaviour from such a reputed hotel chain. I have stayed at many hotels before and have never had such an unpleasant experience.
Another issue was with housekeeping. We went out during the day expecting the room to be cleaned, but when we returned around 11:00 PM, it had not been cleaned. We were too tired to call and complain, so we had to use the same towels again. If guests need to leave the room key or inform the reception for housekeeping, this should be clearly explained during check-in.
One more thing that made us feel uncomfortable was the welcome. We noticed that other guests were being welcomed with garlands, but we were not. It may have been because we arrived late, and perhaps there was a reason, but it made us feel a little left out.
Breakfast was really delicious, food overall was very good. Room was very comfortable. All the staff members were great, and very kind. Wet area and swimming pool very well maintained.
Property was well situated and very neat and well maintained .
Nothing
Everything right from entry to check out
Nothing but you should try to do something for comfortable breakfast. Every time I had to wait for 30-40 minutes to wait for your turn to get a table for breakfast. It was my fifth visit since June. It happened Every time. Rest everything is beyond excellence
Room was great,Housekeeping was excellent
A Gentleman called Mr Mukesh was not being nice to us at Capital Kitchen.
He was trying to show his ego and did not even listen to his lady manager-
We actually asked to get small pack for my father from room-540 and he was being quite ruly and when we spoke to the Lady in black-Captain-she immediately asked him to arrange-but Mr Mukesh even oveerules her Boss-
What kind of behaviour is this???
Quite surprising.
Location is good.
It used to be a good property. Unfortunately things have changed drastically. The staff is not helpful. The breakfast queue was long. Lots of noise by housekeeping throughout the day in the hallway. The checkout took long. I had to carry my own luggage down the staircase. My guests were stopped at the entrance. Just not the same property it used to be.
Our visit to Taj palace Dhaullkuan always leaves a permanent mark on my memory- the mark of excellence, the mark of oneness, the mark of knowing someone who is the best in his skill..
We spent time at Capital Kitchen at Taj. The brief stay and time spent in Capital Kitchen was one of the most relaxing and memorable experiences I have had in a long time. In today’s fast paced world, finding a place where clock stops and one can enjoy being with oneself is rare and Capital Kitchen offers exactly that.
A special word of appreciation for Alok who served us with utmost warmth. Alok at Capital Kitchen truly embodies the spirit of world class hospitality. It was remarkable to watch him at work . He has an exceptional ability to multitask effortlessly welcoming one guest with a warm smile, listening attentively to another, ensuring a third guest’s request is fulfilled, while simultaneously coordinating with the team, all without ever appearing rushed and in total command over himself. He displayed the same composure where a sniper waits for 7 hours and when target is visible for 30 seconds, he takes the shot. It requires focus, attention and willingness to win over one’s own fatigue with pure dedication. Alok’s etiquette mixed with humility, warmth, and genuine care for every guest making people feel more valued reminds me of my battle days in border areas. More importantly, he has the rare gift of building an instant connection with everyone he meets. Such qualities cannot merely be taught; they reflect character of a different order. In an era where true hospitality is becoming increasingly uncommon, Alok is undoubtedly one of those rare gems whose presence elevates the entire dining experience. He is a tremendous asset to Taj and a shining example of what exceptional hospitality should look like.
Akash deserves equal appreciation for his professionalism and dedication. Every order was served exactly as requested, on time, with accuracy, warmth and attention to detail. Like his name suggests, he seemed to be everywhere at once moving gracefully across the restaurant, ensuring every guest was comfortable and every request was attended to promptly. His calm efficiency and cheerful approach added greatly to the wonderful experience.
Khushi lived up to her name by spreading positivity . Even during a heavy rush, she remained cheerful, courteous, and eager to help, making guests feel welcome and extremely cared for.
A special mention must also go to Indrajeet at the Tea Lounge, whose quiet excellence leaves a lasting impression. Hospitality is often measured not only by grand gestures but by the ability to understand a guest without words and Indrajeet has mastered this art beautifully. He possesses an exceptional sense of observation, anticipating guests’ needs before they are even expressed. His service is highly refined reflecting the finest traditions of the Taj. What truly distinguishes him is his calm confidence and genuine warmth. Every interaction feels personal yet perfectly professional. He understands that hospitality is about creating memories, not merely serving refreshments. Every cup served carries with it sincerity, care and pride in his work making the flavour memorable for ages.
