Great location, dog friendly and right on the water!
Pros:

The views of Lake Huron are amazing to wake up to!! Excellent location for the car show. I love that it is dog friendly. Breakfast was great!

Unfreundlicher, mürrischer Empfang. Das Haus müsste dringend saniert werden! Das Zimmer roch unangenehm. Riesige Flecken auf Teppich, Löcher in Möbeln, Schimmel auf Balkon, defektes Moskitogitter, hervorstehende Schrauben (!!!) usw. - Einen defekten Sessel vor dem Schreibpult durfte ich notdürftig mit einem Stuhl aus dem Frühstücksraum ersetzen, damit ich Schreibarbeiten einigermassen erledigen konnte. Auf dem Rasen, im Liegebereich am Ufer, kacken unzählige Hunde von Gästen. Und niemanden scheint es zu kümmern.

Loved that I could walk right out onto the beach!

Cons:

I could hear all the guests opening and shutting doors and walking down the hallway I was on the first floor which isn’t bad until 1/2 am when the upstairs guests decided it was time to jump around. Sliding doors for patio could use some assistance so they aren’t hard to open

The room had a great view of the lake. Breakfast was very good.

Cons:

The room was very musty-smelling, not very clean; the carpet was almost crunchy...like it hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time and the furniture was old and dilapidated even though the hotel seemed to be fairly new. It felt like I was in a 1 star hotel paying a 4 star price

Disappointing Guest Service
Pros:

The stay was generally fine. Dated rooms with poor layouts, loose outlets, no microwave in room, nothing major.

My complaint is primarily around a complete inability to reach the hotel after leaving. My daughter lost her stuffy and I tried calling 8 times, the guest service queue is inoperable and the reservation line is IHG centralized and doesn’t connect to the hotel. Message left for GM went unreturned. Customer service ticket was opened and didn’t receive a response.

My kids made me promise we won’t stay at another Holiday Inn Express.
